About the role

Original posting from Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals via Greenhouse

Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals is a commercial‑stage biopharmaceutical company developing and commercializing novel therapies for diseases with unmet need, with a focus on cardiovascular indications. With deep expertise in immunology and inflammation, Kiniksa is advancing a growing portfolio of approved and investigational medicines, anchored by its lead product, ARCALYST®, the first and only FDA‑approved therapy for recurrent pericarditis. Grounded in rigorous science and bold innovation, the company fosters a highly collaborative, patient‑first culture led by accomplished life sciences leaders. At Kiniksa, talented individuals are trusted and empowered to make a real impact—shaping the future of medicine while improving the lives of patients who need it most.

We are seeking an experienced, insights-driven Associate Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics to lead analytics and performance insights that support ARCALYST, our rapidly growing, in-market brand.

This role is critical to sustaining and accelerating brand growth by turning complex commercial data into a clear, ongoing narrative on what is driving performance, where the opportunities are, and what actions the business should take.

Reporting to the Director, BI, Insights and Analytics, you will be a hands-on analytics owner for the brand: joining and analyzing complex datasets in Snowflake using SQL, building the Tableau dashboards the commercial organization runs on, and delivering insights to senior leadership. You will partner closely with Marketing, Sales Leadership, Market Access, Patient Services, Value and Access, Finance, Compliance, and IT to drive data-informed decision making across the commercial ecosystem.

This role is based in our Lexington, MA office and requires employees to be onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Commercial Data Integration & Analytics (Snowflake / SQL):

Serve as the hands-on owner of ARCALYST commercial analytics in Snowflake, writing SQL to structure specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, hub, claims, payer/formulary, marketing, and call activity data.

Build and maintain trusted, analysis-ready data models (e.g., patient-level longitudinal views, HCP/account master, territory hierarchies) using tokenized/de-identified patient data.

Define and document business rules, KPI definitions, and data quality checks; partner with IT and data vendors to resolve data issues, onboard new sources, and enhance the commercial data warehouse.

Brand Performance Insights:

Drive the ongoing performance narrative for ARCALYST, explaining drivers and barriers of demand across various acquisition and retention initiatives.

Analyze prescriber breadth and depth, account and segment performance, and geographic trends to identify growth pockets and underperforming areas.

Diagnose patient journey and access dynamics to inform brand, access, and patient services strategy.

Support delivery of monthly brand performance insights report and support quarterly business reviews, brand planning, and forecasting with senior leadership.

Business Intelligence & Reporting (Tableau):

Design, build, and maintain intuitive, dynamic Tableau dashboards that answer executional, operational, and performance questions for leadership, brand, sales, access, and patient services teams.

Ensure dashboards are accurate, timely, governed, and scalable, with consistent KPI definitions and refresh processes.

Partner with cross functional partners to drive adoption of reporting and insights tools.

Advanced Analytics & Strategic Partnership:

Partner with stakeholders to frame critical business questions and recommend the right analytic approach, from cohort and persistency analyses to segmentation, targeting, and promotional response measurement.

Propose innovative ways to create additional value from available data assets, technology platforms, and new data sources.

Standout Skills for Impact:

Getting your hands into the data: writing complex SQL in Snowflake to join messy, multi-source pharma datasets into a single source of truth.

Translating complex data into a clear, concise story with actionable recommendations for senior leaders.

Building elegant, intuitive Tableau dashboards that people use.

Understanding how an in-market specialty brand grows, and knowing which levers to analyze to find the next increment of growth.

Communicating with clarity, confidence, and influence across levels and functions.

Maintaining a relentless focus on data accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

Requires a BA or BS (MS or MBA preferred) with 7+ years of relevant business intelligence, commercial analytics, or insights & analytics experience; Pharmaceutical/Biotech or Lifesciences experience required

Critical requirement: Deep, hands-on experience joining and analyzing complex pharma datasets using Snowflake, SQL, and Tableau is required. Candidates should be able to demonstrate advanced SQL (complex joins, window functions, common table expressions) and a track record of building production Tableau dashboards on Snowflake data.

Direct experience working with specialty pharmaceutical data sources, including specialty pharmacy dispense/status data, specialty distributor (852/867) data, hub/patient services data, claims and payer/formulary data (e.g., IQVIA, Veeva Compass, Symphony, MMIT), and CRM data (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce)

Experience supporting an established, in-market specialty or rare disease brand; understanding of patient-level longitudinal analytics, persistence, and patient journey metrics

Proven ability to partner with IT and data vendors on data warehouse design, business rules, and data quality

Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills--able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to navigate differing perspectives, analyze complex business issues, and develop pragmatic, actionable recommendations

Demonstrates a high level of integrity and accountability in the handling of data, with a strong commitment to compliance, privacy, and ethical business practices

Compensation decisions are based on objective criteria including role responsibilities, experience/qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and external market benchmarks.
