The role:

The Composer by SoFi Segment Manager plays a key role in operating, scaling, and evolving the Composer business. This individual will own critical workstreams spanning trading and brokerage operations, process design, member servicing, risk and controls, and strategic initiatives.

The role will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Compliance to translate business needs into scalable operating solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong brokerage expertise with structured problem-solving, sound judgment, and the ability to independently drive complex initiatives from problem identification through implementation.

What you'll do:

Own and support critical Composer business operations, including trading, brokerage servicing, account operations, and complex operational escalations.

Serve as a subject matter expert across Composer's operating model, including key brokerage workflows, systems, dependencies, and controls.

Design and continuously improve end-to-end member journeys across key Composer experiences, identifying friction points and ensuring scalable servicing solutions.

Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-impact member issues, driving resolution and translating learnings into broader process improvements.

Partner across the business to identify operational pain points, define business requirements, and implement technology-enabled solutions and automation.

Support trading operations and related workflows, including trade lifecycle management, exception handling, reconciliations, corporate actions, margin and risk events.

Analyze operational data and trends to identify emerging issues, control gaps, capacity constraints, and opportunities for improvement.

Lead cross-functional initiatives from discovery through implementation, coordinating stakeholders and driving execution.

Partner with business leadership to operationalize new products, features, and strategic initiatives, including process design, controls, readiness, and post-launch monitoring.

Develop and maintain policies, procedures, controls, and business continuity plans for critical Composer activities.

Ensure operational processes align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk-management standards.

Serve as an escalation point for complex brokerage, trading, and servicing issues, identifying both immediate resolutions and broader process improvements.

Proactively identify business risks and opportunities and provide clear, actionable recommendations to leadership.

What you'll need:

5+ years of experience in brokerage, fintech, financial services, business operations, trading operations, or a related regulated environment.

Strong understanding of brokerage operations and the trade lifecycle, including trading, clearing, settlement, and account servicing.

Demonstrated ability to independently own complex projects and operational workstreams from problem identification through implementation.

Strong process-design, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience developing scalable workflows and controls.

Ability to translate business and operational needs into clear requirements for Product and Engineering partners.

Demonstrated ability to influence and execute across Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and other cross-functional teams.

Strong judgment and ability to navigate complex or ambiguous situations in a regulated environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex issues for senior stakeholders.

FINRA Series 7, Series 24, Series 63 or 66 required.
