Business Acceleration Intern

Location: San Jose, California, United States

About Astera Labs

Astera Labs is a global leader in semiconductor-based connectivity solutions that enable AI and cloud infrastructure. Our products help the world's leading technology companies build scalable, high-performance computing and AI systems.

The Opportunity

Astera Labs is looking for a motivated intern to join the Business Acceleration team and help turn important customer, product, and business priorities into coordinated action. This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone who enjoys organizing complex work, asking thoughtful questions, and learning how a semiconductor business operates.

You will work with partners across Sales, Product, Engineering, Field Applications, Operations, Supply Chain, and other teams. With mentorship and guidance, you will help organize cross-functional initiatives, maintain action plans, prepare updates, and support projects that improve execution and business visibility.

This internship is a strong opportunity to build experience at the intersection of technology, business operations, customer programs, and strategic execution while contributing to work with visible team impact.

What You’ll Do

Program Coordination and Execution

Support recurring reviews of customer and business initiatives.

Maintain project plans, action registers, timelines, and status trackers with guidance.

Help coordinate with stakeholders to confirm ownership, next steps, dependencies, and expected completion dates.

Follow up on open actions and surface stalled items or risks to the appropriate team member.

Prepare concise status updates, summaries, and presentation materials for team reviews.

Help improve documentation, meeting notes, and follow-through processes.

Customer and Market Intelligence

Help organize information about customer programs, product adoption, market developments, and competitive activity.

Gather and synthesize updates from Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, and other teams.

Help maintain customer and market trackers or heatmaps showing current deployments, active opportunities, and areas for further investigation.

Support readouts on customer program developments and business opportunities.

Business Acceleration and Strategic Planning

Support projects designed to improve execution, increase visibility, or close coordination gaps.

Help connect customer opportunities, product priorities, and cross-functional actions to broader team goals.

Track progress against agreed objectives and identify recurring process or coordination issues.

Contribute to practical improvements that make it easier for teams to share information, make decisions, and complete commitments.

Own a defined internship project and present your work, learnings, and recommendations at the end of the internship.

Semiconductor and Supply Chain Learning

Build an introductory understanding of semiconductor product development, including silicon development, validation, tape-out, foundry, packaging, and production.

Learn how supply-chain dependencies across suppliers and manufacturing partners can affect product and customer programs.

Help maintain reports that track key milestones, dependencies, constraints, and emerging risks.

Use data and stakeholder input to support clear documentation and timely escalation of issues.

What You Bring

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Business, Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related analytical or technical discipline.

Coursework, projects, campus leadership, or prior experience involving project coordination, analysis, operations, or cross-functional collaboration.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with an interest in learning how to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to ask thoughtful questions, break down well-defined problems, and communicate next steps clearly.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear presentations and concise summaries with guidance.

Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, or similar tools for organizing information, tracking progress, and communicating insights.

Interest in using approved AI tools to accelerate analysis, reporting, and communication while applying sound judgment and protecting confidential information.

Interest in semiconductors, connectivity, computing, AI infrastructure, hardware products, or business operations.

Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Learn

During this internship, you will:

Learn how cross-functional programs are structured, tracked, and communicated.

Gain exposure to customer programs, product priorities, semiconductor development, and supply-chain dependencies.

Practice turning complex information into clear trackers, summaries, presentations, and recommendations.

Build relationships with partners across business and technical functions.

Develop practical skills in program coordination, business analysis, stakeholder communication, and execution follow-through.

Internship experience and compensation

This is a paid, hourly U.S. internship. The applicable hourly rate is determined as part of the offer process and specified in the offer letter, depending on education level ranges from $38/hour to $46/hour.

U.S. interns currently receive a $500-per-week housing/relocation stipend for the duration of the internship.

Interns participate in Early Career programming, including technical and professional-development sessions, community events, and an end-of-program project presentation.

We know that creativity and innovation happen more often when teams include diverse ideas, backgrounds, and experiences, and we actively encourage everyone with relevant experience to apply, including people of color, LGBTQ+ and non-binary people, veterans, parents, and individuals with disabilities.
