CIVIL PROJECT MANAGER, STARBASE DEVELOPMENT

As a member of the Starbase Development team, you will lead the delivery of civil construction projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings that ultimately support the rapid production of Starship. You will manage projects from conception through construction completion and closeout, coordinating with stakeholders, engineers, and construction teams across multiple disciplines to build out the Starbase campus as the gateway to Mars.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage civil infrastructure projects end-to-end, including design, permitting, procurement, construction, and close-out

Own project scope, schedule, and budget from conception through closeout for residential subdivisions, commercial amenities and community recreational projects; actively drive projects to meet target budgets and timelines

Serve as the primary point of contact between design teams, utility operational teams, facilities maintenance groups, stakeholders, contractors, subcontractors, and local municipal or utility authorities having jurisdiction

Manage permitting and inspection processes with internal utility operational teams, and local jurisdictions and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)

Write, negotiate, and manage design and construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out

Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time, prioritizing pragmatic, fast-moving solutions

Support with long-term utility and civil planning for future phases of development and master planning for Starbase

Take on new projects ad-hoc as the business needs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or engineering

3+ years of experience managing civil construction projects

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience managing residential land development or community master planning infrastructure projects (utilities, land platting and subdivision, roadways, amenities)

Experience with grading plans and cut/fill analyses, stormwater design and management

Working knowledge of power and network distribution systems, water distribution and wastewater collection systems

Experience with landscaping design

Proficiency with AutoCAD software, Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu and project scheduling software

Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, and ability to represent SpaceX to external municipal and utility teams

Self-motivated and works autonomously and efficiently in a dynamic team environment

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas or Project Management Professional (PMP)
