About the role

Original posting from CSC Generation via Lever

Building Dreams. Creating Value. At DBHD, you will be part of a team of dream builders. We celebrate customization, care, and customer experience by recognizing those who make homes come to life. With stories from the field, the 'Dream Builder' spotlight, and onboarding tied directly to our brand mission, you will be connected to our purpose from design to delivery.

Reports to: Head of Operations

Location: Elk Grove, CA - On-site

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility as job site needs require.

About the Role:

Our Sacramento-region kitchen and bath remodeling operation needs a Project Manager who can own every job from signed design through final walkthrough, managing licensed general contractors and trades, protecting margin, and keeping homeowners informed at every stage.

As Project Manager, you will oversee multiple active remodeling projects simultaneously, serving as the single point of accountability for scope, budget, schedule, and quality. In your first six months, success means running a full portfolio of jobs with tight cost control, earning the trust of our GC partners and homeowners, and closing projects with clean walkthroughs and margins on target.

What You'll Do:

  • Review every customer proposal for scope and cost accuracy before contract execution; convert approved scope into clear work orders for general contractors and trades.
  • Manage licensed general contractors and specialty trades across multiple active kitchen and bath remodeling projects, building and maintaining schedules, coordinating suppliers, deliveries, inspections, and permits.
  • Own the budget on every job: track margin throughout construction, approve GC and subcontractor invoices against work orders, coordinate change order pricing, and close each project with a cost-vs-budget review with accounting.
  • Visit active job sites regularly to verify progress, quality, safety, and adherence to scope; hold contractors and trades accountable to standards.
  • Drive punch lists through to completion and conduct clean final walkthroughs with homeowners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, providing proactive updates on progress, changes, and costs; resolve concerns promptly and assist with collections when needed.
  • Provide input to Designers during homeowner and builder interactions when scope or constructability questions arise.
  • Collaborate across design, sales, and showroom teams to solve problems and improve processes.

Required Qualifications:

Active or readily reactivatable CSLB Class B (General Building) license.

  • Minimum 3 years of residential construction project management, including kitchen and bath remodeling.
  • Hands-on trade experience (cabinetry, flooring, drywall, tile, plumbing, or electrical) with the field credibility to direct general contractors and trades confidently.
  • Proficiency reading plans, construction drawings, and cabinet layouts; skilled in estimating and job costing.
  • Experience with BuilderTrend or similar construction project management software.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active jobs concurrently with close attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer management skills with a visible, positive presence when dealing with homeowners and external parties.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Own truck for job site visits.

Why Join:

The people who do best here are builders. They take ownership, move fast, and want to see the direct impact of their work.

  • Team Impact: You will lead the execution side of every remodeling project, working directly with department leadership and managing the GC and trade partners who bring designs to life.
  • Growth & Development: Direct exposure to leadership, professional development support, and the chance to shape how the operations team works as the company grows.
  • Ownership: You own every project from signed contract to final walkthrough. Budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction are yours to drive.
  • Competitive Benefits: Paid time off policies, 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision and a variety of supplemental policies, and employee discounts across our portfolio of brands.

Interview Process:

  • Recruiter Screen - A 30-minute conversation with our recruiting team to align on the role, your background, and what you are looking for.
  • Hiring Manager Interview - Conversation with the Head of Operations focused on your project management approach, trade experience, and budget management track record.
