As a member of the Construction Projects Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and field execution of facilities construction projects. You will work with design engineers, construction project managers, facilities and maintenance technicians, vendors, and internal partners to support these goals. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish, with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class facility. This position is based in College Station, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate facilities projects to ensure vendors meet standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship

Plan and direct construction activities of internal resources as well as all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction and lead any coordination meetings between trades

Work hand in-hand with Construction Projects Team to maintain accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, financial reports related to the construction of facilities

Enforce contract expectations from subcontractors and communication of any discrepancies

Approve work being performed by subcontractors and handle any related issue

Authorize payments of subcontractors upon thorough inspection of work

Maintain a safe work site by implementing safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, observing OSHA requirements and any applicable agencies' regulations

Verify all checklists are complete and inspections are scheduled and passed

Monitor cleanliness and hold subcontractors responsible for daily clean-up

Schedule and manage subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs

Develop and maintain rapport with subcontractors, operators, and inspectors

Coordinate inspections with local officials

Review and manage project request tickets including creating work orders when needed and managing its completion

Create purchase orders as necessary to support project timely execution including but not limited to, rentals, material or subcontractor labor

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate

5+ years of experience in the construction industry

2+ years of experience leading the coordination of multiple trades on site

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade

Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods

Ability to conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers

Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and calculations; ability to mark up and highlight coordination items

Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment

Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite tools and PDF editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat

Ability to work in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as necessary to meet business needs

Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support in emergency situations

Physical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (25 lbs.)

Occasional travel may be required based on project tasks

Willingness to work outdoors in an environment requiring exposure to extreme temperatures and elevations

Ability to work onsite at our College Station, TX facility (Remote work not considered)
