VaLMo is Meesho’s own logistic arm, established to provide cutting edge logistic and supply chain support. This role is for someone who is ready to execute at light speed and has a growth mindset to build and scale our supply chain and logistics models. We're looking for an exceptional talent who is passionate about leveraging data and advanced research to create a world-class e-commerce experience.

Supply Chain Network Optimization is an integral part of the VaLMo Data Science team that operates at the heart of VaLMo's vision, developing innovative, data-driven solutions that directly impact millions of users. We're not just solving today's problems; we're thinking long term to build models and frameworks that will define the future of our business. This team uses a wide variety of engineering and advanced applied mathematical techniques (OR, ML, DL, MILP etc) techniques to study and solve niche problems in supply chain across the entire value chain (network design, first/last mile optimization)

What you will do:

  • Build and implement scalable solutions for supply chain optimization
  • Developing a solid understanding of business problems through data analysis, continuous problem discovery, root cause investigation.
  • Efficiently analyzing, and processing large data sets by writing optimized code and building scalable solutions.
  • Utilize cutting-edge optimization techniques for complex non-linear and integer programming problems. Designing and implementing applied mathematical models to address complex business problems.
  • Leveraging existing data science tools and models to solve real-world challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to transform real-world challenges into powerful machine learning solutions.
  • Interpreting model results to generate actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Communicating clearly and proactively with business leaders and peers.
  • Take ownership of the entire problem discovery to scalable solutioning.

What you will need:

  • 4+ years of Professional Experience with a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Proven ability to create mathematical formulations, design heuristics, and deconstruct complex challenges into simpler sub-problems.
  • Strong foundation in efficiently processing and analyzing large datasets, preferably using distributed frameworks like PySpark.
  • Proficiency in Python for data science and machine learning applications.
