About the role

Original posting from Courier Health via Greenhouse

Courier Health is on a mission to solve one of the biggest and most meaningful opportunities in healthcare: reinvent how people living with chronic and rare diseases are supported.

We are building the future of patient engagement for life sciences companies. Our software is leveraged by biopharma companies to support patients in their complex journey from diagnosis to initiating and remaining on therapy to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Come Build with Us

We're a NYC-based team that believes culture, craft, and customer obsession go hand in hand. We show up for each other the same way we show up for the people we serve. We're an office-first company that values in-person collaboration 4 days per week because we believe the best work happens when you can collaborate and brainstorm together in the same room. If that sounds like your kind of place, we think you'll love it here.

The Opportunity

Courier Health is at an inflection point. We exist to get patients faster, better access to life-saving therapies, and product helps to shape decisions related to which patients we reach next and how soon.

As Director of Product, you will lead a team of product managers covering the full platform, reporting directly to the CEO. You will also keep a hand in the work running discovery, writing the spec, making the call — on the bets that matter most.

The roadmap here is not handed down. You will decide what we build, in what order, and what we deliberately don't do, in a market where the right answer is rarely obvious and the stakes are patients starting therapy. If you have led product teams inside someone else's operating model and want to define your own, this is the seat.

What You'll Build

A product team that makes its own calls. You will coach to a standard in weekly one on ones and roadmap reviews, raise the bar on writing and discovery, and give your PMs enough room to be wrong and get better. The goal is a team that can size a bet and defend it without you in the room.

A roadmap the whole company can bet on. Sales, implementation, and engineering all plan against what product says is coming. You will set the sequencing across a growing customer base, make the tradeoffs between what one strategic client needs and what the platform needs, and say no clearly enough that people trust the yes. Commitments hold, and when they change, everyone knows why in time to act.

Discovery grounded in how patients actually get to therapy. Our users are the people running patient support programs, field teams, and hub operations. You will get your team in front of them, translate what you hear into product, and build the customer and market fluency that makes our roadmap hard to copy. Strong opinions are welcome here. Strong opinions without customer contact are not.

What Makes You Successful

10+ years in product management at a B2B software company, with a track record of shipping products enterprise customers renewed and expanded.

5+ years managing product managers. You have hired, coached, and given hard feedback that made someone better.

Proven ownership of a roadmap end to end from customer discovery and strategy through launch and measured outcomes, not just execution against someone else's plan.

Strong technical fluency. You can work through data models, API integrations, and architectural tradeoffs with engineers and hold your own. Coding is not required. Depth is.

Excellent judgment under ambiguity. You can make a call with incomplete information, explain the reasoning, and change course without drama when the evidence shifts.

Exceptional written communication. You think in documents, and your specs make the decision obvious.

Comfortable working directly with senior customer stakeholders, including the conversations nobody wants to have.

Experience building process where none existed, and the restraint to keep it minimal.

Bonus points if you have:

Worked in health tech, pharma tech, or life sciences, or know patient support programs, hub services, or specialty pharmacy workflows firsthand.

Built products on top of complex data integrations or healthcare interoperability standards.

Shipped LLM-powered features that customers actually use.

An early product hire who helped a company scale through growth.
