About the role

Original posting from accessiBe via Greenhouse

accessiBe is the market leader in web accessibility that makes websites accessible to people with disabilities. accessiBe is more than a workplace, it’s a passion. Each day you’re surrounded by people who share the same goal and values, who work endlessly to break down accessibility barriers. We care about all people, regardless of their ability. We hire people that are determined to succeed and who are not afraid of rapid change. Our core values showcase who we are and we strive to focus on excellence and sincerity.

accessiBe is evolving from a single-point solution into a broader accessibility platform, building new products along the way. We're looking for a Director of Product Design to shape the design direction across our products and build practices that enable fast, high-quality delivery.

Reporting to the VP Product, you'll lead our design function and a small team of designers, combining strategic vision, hands-on execution, and an AI-first approach.

What You’ll Do

Shape design direction: Translate the platform’s design vision into priorities, decisions, and deliverable experiences while personally leading key initiatives from discovery through detailed design and delivery.

Build design practices: Establish workflows for discovery, validation, design reviews, critique, documentation, and implementation checks. Evolve a scalable design system and uphold usability, visual quality, and accessibility through production.

Drive AI-first design: Embed AI into research, ideation, prototyping, and design to improve speed and quality, while shaping intuitive experiences for AI capabilities and agentic workflows.

Lead and develop the team: Mentor 2–3 designers, strengthening their craft, product thinking, ownership, and accountability for quality and impact.

Partner cross-functionally: Work with Product and Engineering from problem definition through implementation, and with Brand and Marketing to connect product experience with the brand and customer journey.

Champion user-centered design: Embed customer interviews, usability testing, and prototype validation, using feedback, behavioral data, and product outcomes to guide decisions and improve experiences.

What You’ll Bring

8+ years of product design experience, including B2B SaaS experience and 4+ years leading design teams.

Strong UX/UI portfolio demonstrating product thinking, the ability to simplify complex workflows, and substantial hands-on design experience.

AI-savvy leadership with practical experience integrating AI into design workflows and driving team adoption.

Experience building design processes and scalable design systems that improve collaboration, execution, and quality.

Strategic thinking with the ability to define direction, prioritize, navigate tradeoffs, and turn vision into results.

Strong cross-functional partnerships, user research skills, and the ability to lead through change while balancing speed and quality.

Advantage

Experience designing AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, or agentic workflows.

Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Experience leading design through a transition from a single product to a broader platform.
