About the role:

Known’s Media Science team uses advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms to plan and optimize advertising dollars. We partner with our clients to translate their business goals into meaningful metrics, and buy media across all channels to drive those target outcomes.  

As Director, Social, will lead a group of paid social team members in best in class campaign management, paid social strategy creation and implementation, tracking performance against goals, and adherence to deadlines and best practices, among other topics. You will be responsible for your team’s communication of performance both internally to teams at Known as well as externally to clients. You will work collaboratively with other internal teams and vendors, including Analytics, Data Scientists, Media Strategy, platform reps to continually push the envelope on innovative Paid Social activation and measurement. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Drive performance for paid social campaigns and amaze our clients, both by meeting their targets and creating insightful narratives

Design and author overall team strategy and media approach to paid social management across multiple clients and business objectives

Ensure reporting of social performance to clients is of a high standard and build a narrative for the development of the account

Ensure best practices are met across all sectors of paid social planning and buying, as well as knowledge sharing across teams

Build strong relationships with platform reps and identify partner vendors for future collaboration

Manage and develop direct reports and be responsible for complete team development

Be a point of escalation, identifying and resolving problems in a client-centric environment and coordinating efforts across the team

Manage achievement of KPIs and deadlines

Understanding the client’s overall business objectives and translating them into paid social strategy; Coordinate social strategy with other media channels and find areas for cross channel collaboration

Day-to-day management and coordination of advertising spend you’re responsible for, including working with channel specialists on strategy, insights, optimizations, and improvements

Communicating how modern techniques (e.g. optimization algorithms, automation, and AI) can be used to optimize KPIs in the context black-box algorithms in different social channels

Building analyses, stories, and presentations for client media plans and reports

Developing POVs on key paid social landscape updates, showcasing your abilities to share proactive thought leadership with Known teams and clients

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE

A degree from a well-regarded college or university.  STEM degrees are preferred.  

8+ years of hands-on experience in management of the buying, strategy, and execution of highly data-driven performance and brand Paid Social campaigns, ideally in a digital agency environment

4+ years of experience managing direct reports; experience managing large teams is a plus

A firm understanding of how Paid Social works with Display Media, Paid Search, SEO, Mobile, Organic Social, etc

Fluency with analytics, attribution and measurement systems

Experience running B2B campaigns on social channels such as LinkedIn and Meta

Experience contributing to new business pitches, while showcasing an agency’s differentiators and core value proposition

Experience auditing a clients social channels

Broad range of experience managing paid social across every level of the marketing funnel and a variety of verticals

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Understanding of the basic stats and math that inform smart media buying

Superb communication and presentation skills

Comfort going in-platform to pull analyses when necessary

In-platform experience with Meta, TikTok, X, Reddit, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc.

Expertise designing high performance Social campaigns --e.g. allocation, measurement plan, strategy, and scaling budgets

Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment is a plus

Experience working directly with data scientists is a plus

The base salary for this position is $140K - $155K.

            This range is posted in compliance with state and municipal Pay Transparency laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to receive additional Known benefits.
