Early Childhood Behavior Technician (Part-Time) – Amherst, OH

Location: In-person, Amherst and Elyria, OH

Company: SparkJoy ABA

Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)

Compensation: $17 – $22 per hour (based on experience and certification status)

Schedule: Monday/Wednesday 8am–12pm in Amherst and Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 12:30pm - 4:30pm in Elyria

SparkJoy ABA, in partnership with Finni Health, is looking for energetic, playful, and compassionate Behavior Technicians to deliver ABA therapy to children with autism.

Your Role:

  • Be a Play Leader: Work one-on-one with children in their homes. You won’t simply be "monitoring"—you’ll be actively engaging, playing, and moving with each child to help them achieve their goals.
  • Teach Through Action: Use creative, high-energy methods to teach communication, social skills, and daily living abilities.
  • Data & Collaboration: Record progress and work closely with supervising BCBAs to ensure each child thrives.
  • Support Families: Build trust with parents through consistent, positive communication and in-home support.

Work Environment: This role is entirely in the client's home. You should be comfortable working in client homes and visiting neighborhoods within the assigned territory.

What You Bring:

  • The "Spark": You are outgoing, energetic, and able to maintain high energy to keep children engaged and learning.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience working with children (such as daycare, camp counseling, teaching, coaching, etc.) is required.
  • Reliability: Reliable transportation to client homes in the Amherst area is a must.
  • Commitment to Growth: You must pass RBT Certification within 90 days of hire (we’ll help with studying and cover the cost!).
  • Training: Completion of a 40-hour Behavior Technician training course is preferred but not required for an interview.
