Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented AIT EGSE engineer to help us in our mission by supporting the design, maintenance and documentation of the EGSE architecture required to ensure that our mission will succeed and our system will work in space!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as an AIT EGSE engineer, your role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Define and assess EGSE needs for testing activities (flight mode as well as engineering models and test beds)
  • Design, build, troubleshoot and maintain EGSE architecture (hardware and software)
  • Prepare documentation of EGSE
  • Manufacture EGSE components
  • Support of the test team during testing activities
  • Participation in environmental tests and launch campaigns

WHAT WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE FROM YOU

In the role of AIT EGSE engineer, ideally you will bring the following skillset, mentality and experience:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification
  • Theoretical understanding as well as practical experience with electrical/electronic components/ systems as well as IT network infrastructure:
  • physical assembly of EGSE (building racks, routing cables, etc.)
  • network configuration (segmentation, subnetting, etc.)
  • network protocols (TCP/IP), access control, security/firewall concepts
  • Ability to develop software in Python, LabVIEW, etc.
  • Exposure to Mission Control Software platforms like CCS5, COSMOS or similar
  • Experience with solar array testing, Experience with communication and power EGSE.
  • Ability to read, understand and apply technical manuals, data reports, mechanical & electrical schematics and design specifications
  • Joy in embracing technical problems and the process of solving them
  • Sense of responsibility and a clean and organized way of working
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Willingness to travel worldwide for test and launch campaigns
