About Workwize

Workwize helps companies equip their remote and global teams with IT equipment. Our SaaS platform takes care of buying, delivering, managing and returning laptops and other devices in more than 100 countries. Today more than 50,000 users and 120,000 devices are managed through Workwize.

About the role

You will lead the team that builds the systems behind our finance and internal operations. That means billing, invoicing and the internal tools our Operations and Finance teams use every day. The team is small but has a big impact. Mistakes here are expensive, so quality and good judgement matter.

You lead the engineers, work closely with the team's Product Manager and report to the Engineering Manager. You also work directly with senior leadership. You own the people, the way the team works and the delivery of the roadmap. You stay close to the code: about 30 to 40% of your time goes to code reviews, technical design and some hands-on work.

What you will do

Lead and grow your engineers through 1:1s, clear feedback and growth plans

Set a clear bar for performance, and act early when someone is not meeting it

Own delivery of the team's roadmap and keep progress, risks and blockers visible

Plan the roadmap and quarterly goals with Product, Operations and Finance, including what we say no to

Run planning, refinement and retros, and represent the team in talks with other teams

Keep standards high on code review, testing, monitoring, security and incident follow-up

Hire new engineers for your team

Set good habits for using AI tools in development

What you bring

5+ years as a software engineer, including at least 1 to 2 years managing engineers with direct reports

Experience handling performance issues: setting expectations, giving hard feedback and supporting someone who is struggling

A leadership style that can switch between directing and coaching, depending on the situation

Confidence to explain and defend your point of view to senior stakeholders

Hands-on experience with a modern web stack. We use Laravel (PHP), Node.js, React, Filament and MySQL. You don't need to know all of them, because strong engineers learn them fast

A track record of delivering B2B web products end to end, working with non-technical colleagues

Daily use of AI tools in your development work

Clear written and spoken English (Dutch is not needed)

Nice to have

Experience in FinTech, or with finance and billing systems (invoicing, order-to-cash, tax, or accounting and ERP integrations like Exact or QuickBooks)

Experience with Laravel Filament or other admin panel tools, or moving internal tools off low-code platforms like Retool

Experience building LLM features or AI agents for internal operations

Scale-up experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, logistics or operations

Where you will work

In the Netherlands: hybrid, 2 to 3 days a week in our Amsterdam office

Elsewhere in EMEA: remote, with working hours that overlap with CET and occasional visits to Amsterdam
