About the role

Original posting from Conduct via Ashby

TL;DR: As our first Executive Assistant, you'll support Conduct's founders by protecting their time, keeping priorities moving and making the company feel sharper in how it runs day to day. It's a high-trust role, close to every big decision, at a company running faster than ever.

WHY CONDUCT

We believe the world's largest companies should move at the speed of their ideas, not the speed of the decade-old systems they run on. Today they don't.

Every process change, every new product line runs into software systems layered with decades of custom code and complexity no human mind can fully comprehend. New requirements take months to ship, system migrations cost $100M+ and years of pain.

We're building the AI operating system that absorbs this complexity and gives enterprises back their speed and ambition. Major enterprises already trust us with their most critical systems, we've closed game-changing SI partnerships, just raised a $60M Series A, and demand is outpacing what we can service.

We're a small, talent-dense team doing our life's work out of London and NYC. Extreme ownership, high velocity, low-ego collaboration. What you build here shapes the company and how the world's largest companies operate. We sponsor visas and are convinced diverse teams build better products, so we especially encourage underrepresented groups in tech to reach out.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

You'll work side by side with our three founders as they tackle one of the most complex problems of our generation. Their time is one of the most valuable things we have, and you'll help to decide how it gets spent. One day that means getting a CEO to a customer in Germany. The next, it's prepping a board meeting or landing a candidate we've been chasing for months. Plans often change hourly and you'll help keep everything on track. You'll be our first EA, so you'll set the standard for how we support the founders. As we grow, the team around you might too, and you'll help shape how it works. Few roles give you this view of how a generational company gets built, and as we scale, your scope grows with us.

In practice:

  • Help run packed founder calendars and decide what they spend their time on
  • Set up the meetings that move Conduct forward, with enterprise customers, investors and partners, and make sure everyone walks in prepared and walks out with next steps
  • Plan global founder travel and fix it fast when things don’t go to plan
  • Live in founder inboxes and threads, prioritising by what matters most to the business, handling what you can and flagging what you can’t
  • Write on the founders' behalf to customers, investors and partners, and get every detail right
  • Keep board and investor meetings running smoothly, from scheduling to follow-ups
  • Help candidates have a great first experience of Conduct
  • Spot what's slowing the team down and build the fix

WHO WE HIRE

You're the person everyone goes to when something needs to get done properly. You're sharp, calm under pressure and good with people, and you'd rather be in the room where decisions happen than watching from the outside. You might already be an EA, or you might be in a role where you've quietly been doing the job of one.

In practice that tends to look like:

  • You've supported founders, CEOs, or senior execs in a high-pressure, high-excellence environment, ideally a fast-scaling startup, and you know how to keep up
  • You thrive when things are messy and moving fast, and you bring structure without waiting to be asked
  • You're smart and proactive, and you see what's needed before anyone asks
  • You're happy to push back, even with a founder, when something doesn't need to happen
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, in writing and in person, whether it's an investor, a customer or a new hire
  • You bring maturity and sound judgement to confidential matters
  • When something doesn't work, you fix it or automate it, and you'll happily pick up work that's nowhere near your job description
  • You have a zero-error mindset: anything with your name or a founder's on it is right first time, even on the busiest days
  • Speaking German is a plus
