About the role

Menlo Security is the leader in Browser Security for human and agentic workforces. Our mission is to enable humans and agents to connect, communicate, and collaborate securely, without compromise. The Menlo Browser Security Platform protects organizations from cyberattacks by stopping threats across the web, documents, and email before they reach the user. With Menlo Agent Runtime Security (MARS), that protection now extends to the AI agents working alongside every employee. Menlo Security is trusted by major global businesses, including Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, to protect their most valuable asset, their data, and is backed by top-tier investors.

SUMMARY

We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our engineering team and own quality across the software delivery lifecycle, from requirements review through release validation. In this role, you'll design and execute test strategies and build and maintain automated test suites, partnering closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ship stable, secure, and reliable releases. You'll also use AI-assisted testing tools to speed up test case generation, defect triage, and log analysis, freeing up more time to focus on the highest-risk areas of the product. This is a chance to shape quality practices for products that protect major global businesses from cyberattacks.

OUTCOMES & KPIS

Key Outcome(s) Owned:

  • Releases meet Menlo's quality, security, and reliability bar before reaching customers.
  • Automated test coverage scales with the engineering team's release velocity.

Success Metrics / KPIs:

  • Defect escape rate to production, trending down quarter over quarter.
  • Automated test coverage across critical-path and regression suites.
  • Average time from defect identification to verified resolution.
  • Percentage of releases passing the quality gate on first pass.
  • Test cycle turnaround time relative to release cadence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Perform manual and automated testing for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for regression, smoke, and critical-path coverage.
  • Validate functional, integration, end-to-end, and non-functional requirements.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to help generate and maintain test cases and to triage flaky tests and analyze failure logs, speeding up root-cause identification.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes quickly.
  • Participate in requirement and design reviews to catch quality risks early, and drive continuous improvements in QA processes and tooling.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and SDLC/STLC.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.
  • Understanding of CI/CD workflows and version control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort incorporating AI-assisted tools (e.g., for test case generation, log analysis, or defect triage) into day-to-day QA workflows.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience testing cloud-native or microservices-based applications.
  • Experience with performance or security testing tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of containerized environments and orchestration platforms.
  • Exposure to message queues, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
