About the role

Original posting from Nomihealth via Lever

We were tired of hearing that healthcare is broken, so we decided to do something about it. At Nomi Health, we believe the care itself isn’t broken — it’s the business of healthcare that gets in the way. Every year, more than $1 trillion is wasted on paperwork, delays, and middle layers that drive up costs and keep people from the care they need.

We’re rebuilding the system so it works the way it should: clear prices you can trust, faster payments that keep providers focused on patients, and data that helps employers make better decisions. Our work has already touched more than 30 million lives — from local communities in Michigan to some of the largest companies in the country.

Key Responsibilities::

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end onboarding of new providers, TPAs, and employer groups onto payment and financial services platforms, ensuring completeness and accuracy of banking, EFT, and tax identification (TIN) information

Validate onboarding documentation (W-9s, banking confirmation letters, voided checks, entity formation documents, plan/account setup forms) against company and regulatory standards, tailored to entity type (provider, TPA, or employer group)

Perform due diligence checks appropriate to entity type, including NPI registry verification and OIG/SAM exclusion screening for providers, and negative news and entity verification review for TPAs and employer groups

Ensure all onboarding activity adheres to regulatory and internal compliance guidelines, including BSA/AML, KYC, NACHA rules, and company-specific controls

Coordinate account and banking structure setup for TPAs and employer groups, including funding arrangements, EFT/ACH configuration, and plan-level account mapping

Triage and resolve onboarding exceptions, discrepancies, and documentation gaps in coordination with providers, TPAs, employer groups, and internal stakeholders

Maintain accurate, audit-ready onboarding records and status tracking across CRM/Salesforce and internal systems

Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Compliance, Engineering, Product) to resolve escalated onboarding issues and reduce time-to-activation

Prepare onboarding status reports, pipeline metrics, and exception trends for internal stakeholders

Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to identify onboarding platform defects, define requirements, and validate enhancements that improve reliability and efficiency

Maintain and follow standard operating procedures for onboarding workflows; recommend process improvements where appropriate

Assist with audit support by providing documentation and transaction/onboarding-level detail as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications::

3-5 years of experience in financial services onboarding, payment operations, KYC/AML, or healthcare claims/insurance operations

Working knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC, and NACHA compliance concepts as applied to onboarding and account setup

Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to validate financial, banking, and compliance documentation accurately

Ability to translate onboarding pain points into clear requirements for Product and Technology teams, and to validate that delivered solutions meet operational needs

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present onboarding status and issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Demonstrated ability to investigate documentation discrepancies, ask incisive questions, and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders

Track record of building effective working relationships across departments including Finance, Compliance, Product, and Engineering

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data validation

Proven ability to manage a high-volume onboarding pipeline and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward process improvement and operational efficiency

Self-directed and proactive, with demonstrated ownership of outcomes and a continuous improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications::

Experience onboarding a mix of entity types (providers, TPAs, employer groups) in a healthcare, payments, or financial services environment

Familiarity with NPI registry lookups, OIG LEIE/SAM.gov exclusion screening, or similar due diligence tools

Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to improve onboarding workflows, accelerate documentation review, or automate repetitive tasks

Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases, building ad hoc reports, or investigating onboarding data discrepancies

Experience with Salesforce, Jira, or other CRM/operational workflow tools; comfort learning and navigating new systems quickly

Nomi Health delivers disruptive healthcare solutions, in partnership with like-minded employers, public sector organizations, advisors (brokers/consultants), and payers/TPAs. We’re a team of 300+ people who show up every day with the same mindset: don’t settle for “that’s just how it is.” Real change happens when you challenge the system, cut through the excuses, and build something better together.
