Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a mission-driven, motivated multi-tasker who is invested in work that is fulfilling and impactful. They embrace change and tackle challenges with enthusiasm. They have an “all-in” disposition towards work, understanding that we are a fast-paced, high-growth organization with evolving priorities. They can excel at both independent tasks and collaborative work, leading with clear and candid communication. They exhibit humble leadership—the ability to drive initiatives forward while remaining excited about continuous learning and development opportunities. They feel strongly about being part of a team that advocates for people to live longer and better lives.

The Role

Hone is looking for a Founding HR Business Partner, Talent Strategy to join our People Ops team. In this role, you will report to the Director of People Ops and building the full-cycle recruiting function for the organization, spanning both technical and non-technical functions. More than anything, this is a role about partnership: you will be the strategic bridge between hiring managers who need great talent and the candidates - both active and passive - who could be that talent, today or down the road.

Internally, you’ll operate as a true advisor to hiring managers - shaping their thinking on role scope, market realities, and hiring bar, not just taking orders on a requisition. Externally, you’ll build real relationships with candidates, including those who aren’t ready to move today but could be exactly right for a future opening. You’ll also bring genuine fluency with AI tools to make your own work faster and sharper, but the AI is in service of better partnership and better decisions - not the other way around.

Primary Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to) the following:

Strategic Partnership with Hiring Managers

Lead structured intake conversations that go beyond the job description

Serve as a trusted advisor on hiring strategy, market compensation realities, and role scope

Drive a structured, consistent interview process that reflects Hone’s values and holds hiring managers accountable to a fair, well-calibrated bar

Negotiate and extend offers in partnership with hiring managers and People Ops

Candidate Relationships & Talent Pipeline

Build genuine, long-term relationships with both active and passive candidates - not just filling today’s open roles, but cultivating talent pools for roles we haven’t opened yet

Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies across multiple channels (LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, referrals, and beyond)

Deliver a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects well on Hone’s employer brand, whether or not a given candidate is hired

Maintain an ongoing talent network so that when new roles open, we’re starting from a warm pipeline instead of a cold search

AI-Enabled Recruiting

Use AI tools (Claude plus others) as a regular part of your workflow to work faster and make better-informed decisions - across sourcing, outreach, screening support, and pipeline management

Maintain clean, accurate data in Greenhouse - use it to track pipeline health, identify bottlenecks, and report on recruiting metrics

Help train hiring managers on effective, legally compliant use of AI tools in hiring decisions

Recruiting Infrastructure

Help build and refine our recruiting infrastructure as we scale - including process documentation, interview training, and intake frameworks

Contribute to employer branding initiatives that help Hone stand out in a competitive market

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a demonstrated track record as a strategic partner to hiring managers and leadership

At least 4 years of in-house recruiting experience at a startup or a high-growth company in a founding role

Proven ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with passive candidates, including maintaining active talent pipelines between hiring needs

Experience recruiting in healthtech, digital health, or telemedicine preferred

Experience advising hiring managers on role scope, market compensation, and hiring strategy - comfortable pushing back when needed

Proven ability to managing a dynamic, shifting req load in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Proficiency with Greenhouse ATS and modern sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter or similar)

Demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) as a regular part of your recruiting workflow

Strong instincts for candidate quality and culture fit - you ask great questions and assess beyond the resume

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality

Comfortable in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment

Creative problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset

Can quickly learn new technology systems and communication tools

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively

Compensation Range

$100,000 – $130,000
