We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Hardware Technical Program Manager to drive our hardware products from concept through production across the automotive, trucking, defense, construction, mining, and agriculture industries. This role owns end-to-end program management for complex hardware systems — spanning electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and system architecture — ensuring our hardware ships on schedule, at quality, and within cost.

AT APPLIED INTUITION, YOU WILL:

  • Own and drive the product development process (PDP) for hardware programs, from early concept and architecture through qualification and production launch
  • Manage multiple concurrent hardware programs, each spanning cross-functional teams across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware, and system integration
  • Define program scope, schedules, and milestones, and hold cross-functional teams accountable to committed timelines, quality bars, and cost targets
  • Identify technical risks and gaps early, and drive mitigation plans in close partnership with engineering leads
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, and contract manufacturing partners to ensure components and subsystems are delivered on time and meet quality requirements
  • Serve as the operational backbone of each hardware program — running design reviews, tracking action items, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
  • Partner with software and systems teams to align hardware and software integration milestones
  • Communicate program status, risks, and decisions clearly to engineering leadership and stakeholders

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware technical program management, with a demonstrated track record of shipping hardware products to production
  • Experience across multiple hardware product lines or industries (e.g., consumer electronics, automotive, defense, construction, mining, or agriculture)
  • Deep understanding of the hardware product development process (PDP), including design, prototyping, verification/validation, and manufacturing ramp
  • Experience managing multiple complex, concurrent hardware programs with competing priorities and tight timelines
  • Strong technical fluency across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and system architecture — enough to engage deeply in technical trade-off discussions
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, component vendors, and supply chain partners
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a high bar for documentation and program hygiene

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience shipping hardware in automotive, trucking, defense, construction, mining, or agriculture industries
  • Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or sensing platforms (LiDAR, Radar, Cameras)
  • Familiarity with PLM/material tracking systems and BOM management
  • Experience managing specialty build partners, prototype vehicle upfits, or Tier-1/OEM integration programs
