About the role

Original posting from Seven AI via Ashby

You'll be the first dedicated HR Operations hire at 7AI. We hold ourselves to a three-star Michelin standard for how customers experience us, and we want employees to get the same care. You'll run the day-to-day of the employee experience, from a new hire's first day to their annual review, and build the lightweight systems that keep it running well as we grow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own payroll & Benefits administration process and experience for employees.
  • Own onboarding end to end, so every new hire arrives to a prepared laptop, a clear first week, and a named point of contact.
  • Run the performance review cycle, including timelines, templates, reminders, and follow-through with managers.
  • Coach managers and employees through everyday people questions, such as feedback, expectations, and role changes.
  • Keep employee records, HR systems, and compliance documentation clean and current.
  • Build simple, repeatable processes where none exist yet, and improve the ones that do.
  • Partner with the recruiting team on offers, start dates, promotions, and transitions.
  • Look at each employee touchpoint the way we look at a customer touchpoint, and fix what falls short.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A few years of HR operations, People operations, or HR generalist experience.
  • Hands-on experience administering payroll and benefits.
  • Experience running onboarding and performance review cycles.
  • Comfort coaching managers and employees, including on difficult conversations.
  • A track record of building lightweight processes and making them stick.
  • High standards and a bias toward getting things right the first time.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
