Heritage Search Partners - Investment Associate

Background: Heritage Search Partners (HSP) is an investment fund set up in 2023 to be Heritage Holding’s ETA/Search Fund investment vehicle. Although managed by the same management company as Heritage Holding’s buyout fund, it is a distinct strategy: to invest in best-in-class entrepreneurs and operators in their acquisition journeys.

HSP seeks to invest across the search fund and entrepreneurship-through-acquisition (ETA) landscape via a wide range of acquisition structures, geographies & industries. We are currently investing out of Fund 2 and are closing on Fund 3 by year-end.

So far we have made 75+ minority equity investments across traditional search funds, self-funded search/ independent sponsor deals, & committed capital vehicles/ long-term holding companies. We are currently investing out of a $40m fund raised specifically for this strategy. We have invested into ~10 different countries across North America, Central America, UK, Europe & India.

HSP is looking to hire an Investment Associate to join Alex de Pfyffer, Ross Porter, Josh Sans & Matthew Glass. This person will be based out of the firm’s Boston or New York office and will be focused on sourcing & originating new investment opportunities as well as managing current portfolio operations. We are looking for a highly driven individual who is ready to take on a large amount of responsibility in the near-term and who shares our passion for entrepreneurship and the search/ ETA ecosystem.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Originating new investment opportunities from conferences, co-investor referrals, MBA program networks, general referrals, & inbound emails, among others
  • Evaluating investment opportunities, including analysis on industry/ sector, deal-specific due diligence, & team
  • Managing a large pipeline of deals on our CRM
  • Maintaining strong relationships with existing entrepreneurs we’ve backed & entrepreneurs we evaluate
  • Maintaining relationships with key co-investors in the space as well as leaders of ETA clubs within top MBA programs
  • Communication with existing searchers & entrepreneurs in our portfolio to support their process (e.g. assisting with sourcing, deal diligence, operations)
  • Supporting fund-level marketing materials and quarterly investor updates
  • Attending ETA conferences across the U.S. as well as speaking at core MBA programs throughout the semester

Desired Characteristics & Skills:

  • Quick Learner with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Highly Driven
  • Engaging and Energetic Personality
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in engaging with entrepreneurs on a daily basis

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of full-time work experience
  • Some tie to the search fund/ ETA ecosystem
