About the role

Original posting from General Medicine via Ashby

WHO WE ARE

General Medicine is a national, tech-enabled telemedicine group founded by the team behind PillPack. We're building the operating infrastructure for virtual primary care: the systems, agreements, and compliance backbone that let our advanced practice providers practice safely and efficiently across states. We move fast, document our work, and expect the same rigor from everyone on the team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a Manager of NP Licensure & Collaborative Practice to own the relationships and administration that let our nurse practitioners legally practice telehealth in every state we operate. You'll manage our roster of collaborating physicians, stand up and maintain collaborative practice agreements (CPAs), and run primary source verification on NP licenses so we can employ and deploy providers with confidence. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, operations, and provider relations: you're the person who keeps our NP-CP structure legally sound and operationally smooth.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

  • Manage our bench of collaborating physicians: track capacity, match CPs to NPs, and run onboarding for new CPs stepping into the role
  • Build and maintain state-specific and provider-specific CPA templates, and set up new CPAs and their collateral paperwork
  • Review completed CPAs, file them internally, submit any required state paperwork, and update licensure records once agreements are signed
  • Run primary source verification and license viability review for new and existing NPs, and communicate findings to providers and internal stakeholders
  • Track licensure and CPA status across states, follow up on outstanding issues, and drive licenses to viability
  • Handle licensure-related escalations (for example, a pharmacy declining to fill a prescription written by an NP in a given state) and resolve them with the relevant board or party
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on NP licensure and collaborative practice compliance: research open questions, correspond with state boards, and keep a record of key decisions
  • Support NP offboarding as it relates to collaborative relationships, coordinating state-specific requirements with CPs
  • Provide pre-hire licensure review for NP candidates and feedback to the recruiting team via Ashby

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with NP/APRN licensure, credentialing, or collaborative practice agreements in a healthcare or telehealth setting
  • Working knowledge of multi-state licensing board processes and primary source verification
  • Comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-functional problems and building process where none exists yet
  • Strong documentation habits: you write things down so the next person (or your future self) doesn't have to guess
  • Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI tools in your daily workflow (not just familiarity with them)
  • High attention to detail: this work has real regulatory consequences

WHY GENERAL MEDICINE

You'll build the licensure and collaborative practice function from the ground up at a company that's scaling telehealth nationally. Your work directly determines whether our NPs can see patients, which means it matters every single day.
