As the Mechanical QC Lead, you’ll plan and coordinate quality activities, lead inspection programmes, oversee offsite fabrication quality and ensure mechanical installations meet the required standards.   You will work closely with project management, construction teams, subcontractors and inspectors to identify potential issues early, maintain quality standards and ensure systems are ready for commissioning and handover

Key Responsibilities include:

Lead and coordinate mechanical quality control activities throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through installation, testing and handover.

Plan and oversee mechanical inspections in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

Monitor mechanical installation activities to ensure compliance with approved standards, specifications and project requirements.

Coordinate offsite manufacturing, fabrication and assembly quality inspections.

Work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, inspectors and project management to maintain quality standards and programme requirements.

Identify, document and manage non-conformances, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

Review and maintain quality records, inspection reports and supporting documentation.

Monitor inspection progress and communicate quality issues, risks and performance updates to project management.

Support commissioning walkdowns, snagging activities, defect resolution and system handover.

Promote a proactive quality culture, identifying potential issues before they affect project delivery.

Ensure mechanical quality activities are coordinated effectively with other project disciplines.

Ideal Candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or a relevant electrical trade qualification at NFQ Level 6 or an engineering qualification at Level 7, with overseas qualifications checked for equivalence.

Experience in leading Mechanical QC or Mechanical Engineering activities on large and major construction projects in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, nuclear, semiconductors, datacentre or other highly regulated industrial environments.

Solid knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection requirements, and EU construction standards.

Experience supporting commissioning and handover activities.

The ability to work with (and influence) trades, PMs, supervisors, and client reps.

A calm and structured approach in a high‑pace environment.

Desired competencies / special role requirements

Willingness to work predominantly onsite in Sweden and accommodate the project's rotational working arrangements.

Data Centre experience preferred.

Preferable from a trade’s background / trades experience.
