ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a MEP Design Engineer for our client — a company building a large-scale AI data center (with a planned capacity of 300 MW) in Poland, on a site currently undergoing active reconstruction into modern technological infrastructure. The first phase, with a capacity of 50 MW, is planned to go live this year.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The MEP Design Engineer is responsible for the design and technical development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the company's critical infrastructure facilities. The engineer ensures design solutions meet reliability requirements, target energy efficiency metrics, and applicable regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and review electrical distribution design (MV/LV distribution, UPS, diesel generators, BESS)
  • Design cooling and ventilation systems (chillers, dry coolers, water towers; liquid cooling where applicable)
  • Coordinate modular architecture and its integration with MEP infrastructure
  • Develop gas fire suppression, ventilation, and OT-IT integration (BMS/DCIM) systems
  • Review design documentation from suppliers and partners, flag risks and discrepancies
  • Ensure design compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and maintain the Basis of Design document and technical specifications
  • Participate in tender processes and vendor proposal evaluation (generators, UPS, chillers, switchgear)
  • Coordinate with the IT Infrastructure team to align cooling and power requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of MEP design experience for critical infrastructure or heavy industry facilities (data centers, industrial plants, energy, telecom infrastructure, etc.)
  • Experience designing cooling/ventilation systems (traditional HVAC experience is sufficient)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit and engineering calculation software
  • English proficiency sufficient for international project documentation

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Tier III/IV certified facilities
  • Experience designing direct liquid cooling (DLC) systems or high-density clusters
  • Knowledge of EU/Polish electrical and fire safety codes
  • Experience with NVIDIA GB200-GB300 infrastructure
  • Polish language skills
  • Experience on greenfield/brownfield construction-phase projects
