About the Role

As a member of the Finance team within a global e-commerce membership organization, the Payments Analyst provides analytical support across payments performance, testing, and process optimization. This role analyzes payment data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Payments Analyst supports testing initiatives, helps improve authorization rates and payment processes, and provides data-driven recommendations that contribute to revenue growth and a better customer experience.

This role is intended for someone who can move beyond basic reporting to interpret results, identify meaningful insights, anticipate follow-up questions, and provide actionable recommendations.

What You’ll Do

Conduct in-depth payment data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities

Identify opportunities to optimize payment processes, enhance customer experience, and drive revenue growth

Support testing initiatives through sample sizing, monitoring, and readouts

Partner with cross-functional teams on payment performance and optimization initiatives

Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests and translate findings into clear, actionable insights

Create and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into key payment metrics

Provide data-driven recommendations to improve authorization rates and overall payment performance

Explore practical ways to use AI tools to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive tasks, support testing workflows, and improve reporting

What We’re Looking For

2–4+ years of experience in a highly analytical consumer, marketplace, fintech, or similar data-driven business

Proven track record of delivering actionable insights using data

Strong SQL skills for efficient extraction and analysis of data from complex datasets (must-have)

Strong visualization skills in Power BI (preferred), Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools

Strong Excel skills

Ability to take ownership of analytical projects and move from data extraction to interpretation, insights, and recommendations

Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Experience using AI tools, or strong openness to adopting them in day-to-day analytical work

Nice to have: experience in payments, acquirer/processor/payment gateway environments, or high-risk merchant space

Nice to have: exposure to A/B testing or experimentation
