About the role

Original posting from Enpal via Ashby

Our goal is to have a solar system on every roof, a storage unit in every house, and an electric car in every garage. Enpal makes this possible with an integrated total solution for decentralized energy—from solar systems and battery storage to wall boxes, smart meters, and heat pumps. At the heart of it all is our AI-powered platform Enpal. One http://Enpal.One+, which intelligently connects thousands of systems and efficiently optimizes electricity procurement and feed-in on the energy market.

metrify is Enpal’s smart metering unit and the digital infrastructure for a smart energy ecosystem. With tens of thousands of iMSys units installed and scalable processes, we make energy measurable, controllable, and economically viable—and, together with our partners, we are laying the groundwork for new business models for the energy transition.

We are looking for a Product Manager (f/m/x) to join Metrify Smart Metering team and take end-to-end ownership of the core internal data products such as including our Customer Data Model and our billing & pricing engine.

In this role, you will work closely with Engineering and internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Customer Care) to turn complex regulatory, operational, and business requirements into a scalable, reliable data foundation. You will build the internal infrastructure that other teams and products depend on from a unified customer identity model to accurate, auditable billing logic.

If you're excited about building platform products where the users are internal teams and other systems, and where success is measured by data integrity, consistency, and downstream reliability, we'd love to hear from you!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of our Customer Data Model, including identity hierarchy design (e.g. customer → order → metering point → measurement), data consistency, and governance across systems.
  • You will drive the roadmap for our billing and pricing engine, translating regulatory requirements (e.g. MaKo, EDIFACT) and commercial pricing logic into reliable, scalable calculation and invoicing capabilities.
  • You will translate operational and regulatory requirements into clear PRDs, data models, and actionable user stories for Engineering.
  • You will collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Customer Care to ensure the data foundation supports accurate billing, reporting, and downstream product use cases.
  • You will define and track success metrics focused on data quality, billing accuracy, system reliability, and reduction of manual/operational workarounds.
  • You will continuously gather feedback from internal teams to identify gaps in our data model and pricing logic, and prioritize fixes and enhancements accordingly.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • You gained at least 2 years of experience in product management in a B2B, or infrastructure product with focus on internal users.
  • You are experienced in navigating complex domains involving regulation, systems integration, working directly with internal stakeholders and drive the roadmap. You also have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially Engineering and Growth.
  • You are familiar with API design, and integrations; experience in energy markets, smart metering, or regulatory processes is a plus.
  • You communicate clearly in English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
  • You embody agile values and take ownership of identifying the problem, defining what needs to be built, and shaping the solution as it evolves.
