About the role

Original posting from PLACE

Your Opportunity:

At PLACE, we’re building a category-defining company at the intersection of real estate, technology, business services, and the consumer. As a profitable, hypergrowth startup on the path to an IPO, our standards are high, our team is scrappy, and our commitment is to execute the best work of our lives.

This is YOUR CHANCE to shape the backbone of a company that’s scaling rapidly and innovating boldly. As our Quality Assurance Specialist I, REO & Vendor Quality Assurance, you’ll partner with the Vendor Management Manager, founders, and executives to perform and develop audits across our REO, Valuations, and Vendor Management departments, and to support process improvement, data analysis, and policy documentation. If you thrive in complexity, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and believe in scaling through tech and AI, this is your PLACE. This is a hybrid role with occasional in-office meetings in Salt Lake City required.

Who Develops You: Vendor Management Manager

What You’re Great At:

You are detail-oriented, analytical, and organized, with a real knack for spotting what’s off and figuring out why. You understand real estate transactions, documents, contracts, title and escrow, and lending laws, policies, and procedures, and you can turn that knowledge into clear, fact-based recommendations. You are comfortable in Microsoft Office and have solid Microsoft Excel experience (i.e. pivot tables, formulas). You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and bring a customer service mindset to everything you do. You multitask well, stay calm in a fast-paced workflow with tight timelines, and enjoy working on a team. You’re comfortable with change, ask good questions, build strong professional relationships, and aren’t afraid to speak up when you see a better way. You hold a high school diploma or GED (an Associate or technical degree is a plus) and have 1-3 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in REO, default servicing, or mortgage.

What You’ll Do:

Perform, develop, implement, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly audit reviews, including trending, across the REO, BPO fulfillment, and Vendor Management departments

Document and develop controls and reporting for key processes

Assist in analyzing key performance indicators and monitor key controls

Use existing data and measurements to make recommendations and observations from reports

Create reports using existing data warehouse tools and systems

Assist in process improvement projects, including process mapping, data mining, data analysis, testing, and sharing recommendations

Learn new processes quickly and identify non-value-add steps to improve efficiency and accuracy

Recognize risk and ensure controls are implemented and monitored to mitigate it

Take on other duties as assigned

Salary: $25-$30/hour, depending on experience

Why PLACE:

We believe people do their best work when they’re trusted, supported, and surrounded by others who are equally driven. That’s why this role includes a “work from the PLACE you work best” approach: at home, in an office, or on the move. Our competitive benefits include PTO as needed, comprehensive insurance coverage, a 401(k) match, stock option grants, and a stock purchase plan. Every team member is an owner, building the “PLACE” they are proud to call “my company.”
