About the Role:

Customers are King! Each and every day the Customer Success Team works to ensure that our clients are maximizing the value they receive from PitchBook. Onboarding, training, support, business development and renewals are handled by the Customer Success team. Customer Success does whatever it takes to ensure our customers achieve their goals and continue to grow their engagement with the PitchBook Platform. 

PitchBook’s Sales Engineer provides support to our Sales and Customer Success teams as well as our clients related to our API and data feed solutions. Our Sales Engineer can easily navigate the technical aspects of our API and data feed products and effectively communicate how these products work to our clients or prospects. This role also provides ongoing technical support to clients related to our API and data feed products. 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Provide pre- and post-sales technical expertise as well as ongoing consultation to PitchBook clients and prospects related to our customer-facing data feed and API solutions 

Partner with PitchBook’s Sales and Customer Success teams to determine and implement technical solutions for clients and prospects 

Coordinate with Product, Technology, and IT teams to effectively communicate to clients and prospects how the PitchBook Platform features, functionality, processes, and underlying technologies work 

Partner with remote development teams to build client solutions for PitchBook’s data feed and API products 

Manage a queue of client or prospect requests for technical solutions and specs 

Work collaboratively with Product teams to share customer feedback and suggestions 

Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors 

Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested 

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in sales/solutions engineering, customer success, or technical sales

Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience in at least two of the following areas: financial markets industry knowledge, strong technical skills, or sales/customer success expertise. This experience should enable effective collaboration with large-scale enterprise clients, including major investment banks, Big 4 consulting firms, or Fortune 500 companies 

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills

Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with the sales pipeline, emphasizing the ability to help drive sales processes and track engagement 

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and systems 

Strong desire and ability to learn more about the private equity, venture capital, private credit, and M&A marketplaces and understand how each of our diverse client types engages with our product and data

Compensation

Annual base salary: $110,000-$110,000

Annual on target variable commission of fully ramped representative meeting expectations: $30,500

PitchBook currently has no cap on commission and commission is determined by individual performance
