The Opportunity: We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is perfect for an IT administrator with a strong foundational understanding of security, eager to evolve into a full-fledged security specialist. You'll play a crucial role in safeguarding our entire IT infrastructure and digital assets, including those of our valued customers. You will be designing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge security controls and building out robust security capabilities from the ground up. You'll be instrumental in ensuring seamless IT operations while proactively strengthening TENEX's and our customers’ security posture against an ever-evolving threat landscape through robust engineering practices and intelligent automation.

What You'll Do:

Security Engineering & Operations:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a diverse suite of security tools and technologies, including next-generation firewalls, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive security gap assessments to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, proposing and implementing effective remediation strategies.
  • Actively assist with customer success initiatives by providing security expertise, integrating our solutions into customer environments, and addressing their specific security requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with our Security Operations Center (SOC) to enhance threat detection, incident response capabilities, and forensic analysis.
  • Contribute significantly to the development and enforcement of robust security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
  • Lead system hardening efforts for operating systems, applications, and network devices to minimize attack surfaces and enhance resilience.

DevOps Security Integration & Automation:

  • Champion the integration of security throughout the DevOps lifecycle, helping to build and mature our "security-as-code" capabilities.
  • Leverage APIs extensively to integrate various security tools with IT systems, enabling advanced automation and improved security orchestration. This includes automating alert enrichment, threat intelligence ingestion, vulnerability scanning, and automated containment actions in response to security incidents.
  • Develop and implement automated security workflows to streamline security operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 2 years specifically focused on cybersecurity operations or engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with ZTNA, Mobile Device Management (MDM), EDR solutions (e.g., SentinelOne), and network security concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VPNs).
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting security tools such as firewalls, SIEM platforms (e.g., Google SecOps, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), and vulnerability scanners.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices across major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure coding practices.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation, API integration, data analysis, and custom tool development are highly desirable and critical for this role.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to complex technical challenges.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and self-driven with a keen eye for detail and a steadfast commitment to security best practices and continuous improvement.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
  • Expert proficiency in Google Workspace administration, Google Cloud Platform, and identity management solutions (e.g., Google Cloud Identity).
