We’re looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Revenue & Platform Accounting team. In this role you’ll contribute to key areas of StockX order-to-cash, spanning payment processor reconciliations, exception resolution, and other revenue related transactions across the StockX platform (a high volume, multi-currency global marketplace). You’ll work at the intersection of accounting and data, partnering closely with business teams to stay ahead of platform changes and design processes to accurately account for existing and new products. With revenue touching all parts of the business, this role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with business teams to shape how accounting scales inside a fast-paced company and be a champion for our customers, external and internal alike. 

What you’ll do 

Perform end-to-end monthly close responsibilities for StockX platform activity including preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliation of payment processor receivables, and reconciliation of associated balance sheet accounts

Collaborate internally and with cross-functional business partners to streamline processes and contribute to an efficient, effective, and accurate month end close 

Research and drive resolution of exceptions with key cross-functional stakeholders in Customer Service, Inventory Control, and Transportation

Assist with external audit requests, including preparing supporting schedules and documentation

Partner with Data Engineering and Product teams to implement accounting changes stemming from platform and product updates, designing data flows, proactively flagging exposures, and addressing exceptions as encountered

Participate in special projects, user acceptance testing for new products, and analysis and reporting as needed

Help shape the future of the Platform Accounting team as a global workforce

About you 

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of progressive experience in US GAAP accounting

Basic knowledge of US GAAP (with a focus onASC 606) required, or ability to learn US GAAP from a foundation in IFRS and/or Ind AS

Strong problem solving skills and experience analyzing high volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business environment using Excel and data visualization tools

Energized by operating in an ambiguous, high-growth environment and the opportunity to build out new processes 

Excellent written and spoken English, confidence working with internal stakeholders and comfort working across international time-zones and occasional US-based scheduling

An interest in using new technologies, such as AI and automation tools, to make reconciliations, journal preparation, and workflows more efficient while ensuring completeness & accuracy and protecting confidential data.

Big 4 Accounting firm and/or marketplace experience; CA/CMA certified or in the process of attaining a plus

Experience with payment processing platforms in a reconciliation and exception resolution capacity

Experience working directly with non-finance business partners to communicate accounting impacts in digestible real world and drive resolution
