Senior C# Developer: Explorers/Identity Resilience

Veeam Software

On-site

Who this role is best for

A natural match if you have experience with C# development for distributed recovery systems and deep knowledge of Active Directory or database internals.

Best fit for

  • Candidates with 5+ years of C# product development and experience in distributed recovery systems
    — “5+ years of commercial C# product development”
  • Professionals with expertise in Active Directory or database recovery mechanics
    — “Depth in at least one of: Windows Server and Active Directory administration or internals, or database recovery mechanics for SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL”
  • Individuals who are comfortable working in large, mature codebases and refactoring safely
    — “Comfort in a large existing codebase: reading unfamiliar code, refactoring safely”

Things to consider

  • Geographic constraints apply — remote work is only possible if located in the Czech Republic
    — “If the applicant is permanently present outside of the Czech Republic, Veeam reserves the right to refuse to consider the application for a job.”
  • The role demands full ownership of integration test suites and ensuring their quality
    — “Own your integration test suite and keep it green”

How to stand out

  • Highlight experience with REST/gRPC APIs and backward compatibility in your resume and interview responses
    — “Experience designing service APIs — REST, gRPC or similar — where consumers are external and backward compatibility matters”
  • Emphasize your ability to manage long-running distributed sessions and handle failures gracefully
    — “Strong async and multithreading: cancellation, session lifecycle, hours-long operations”
  • Showcase your work with Windows Server, Active Directory, or database recovery systems in your portfolio or projects
    — “Work close to what you're recovering: SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL internals, or Active Directory — domain controller promotion, SYSVOL and NTDS, DNS, Kerberos, replication”

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior C# Developer to join our team, which focuses on two main areas:

*Active Directory Forest Recovery as part of Identity Resilience, which rebuilds an entire AD forest after a domain-wide outage or ransomware attack"

  • Veeam Explorers - granular recovery for SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Exchange and SharePoint - where we expose browse and restore through REST and gRPC so they can be driven from the Web UI, PowerShell and automation

Both are the same kind of system: a server orchestrating a remote agent via a versioned contract, running operations that can take hours and must survive failures at any step.

What You'll Do

Design and implement recovery flows end-to-end — REST and gRPC contracts, server-side orchestration, and the agent that executes on the target machine

Build PowerShell cmdlets as a first-class product surface, with parameter validation and a coherent object model

Design pre-flight validation that catches issues before a restore starts, across REST, server and agent layers

Work close to what you're recovering: SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL internals, or Active Directory — domain controller promotion, SYSVOL and NTDS, DNS, Kerberos, replication

Manage long-running distributed sessions: agent deployment, keep-alive, cleanup on failure and timeout, and cancellation

Own your integration test suite and keep it green

Refactor a long-lived codebase as you go — this is a mature product, and improving what's there is part of the job

Technologies We Work With:

C#, .NET, REST, gRPC / Protobuf, PowerShell, multithreading and async, Windows Server and Active Directory, Linux, MS SQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle, VMware and Hyper-V, Git, TFS, Visual Studio, Rider

What You'll Bring

5+ years of commercial C# product development, with a deep understanding of .NET, data structures and algorithms

Experience designing service APIs — REST, gRPC or similar — where consumers are external and backward compatibility matters

Strong async and multithreading: cancellation, session lifecycle, hours-long operations

Depth in at least one of: Windows Server and Active Directory administration or internals, or database recovery mechanics for SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL

Comfort in a large existing codebase: reading unfamiliar code, refactoring safely

English for daily work in an international team

Nice to have: PowerShell module development, Protobuf, Linux, hypervisor APIs

What You'll Get

25 vacation days, 4 sick days, 21 paid medical leave days, plus 4 extra global VeeaMe Days for self-care and 24 paid volunteer hours annually through Veeam Cares

Premium private medical insurance for employees and dependents

Daily meal vouchers for restaurants and groceries (180 CZK per working day)

Flexible cafeteria platform with thousands of lifestyle benefit options

Multisport Card for gym and wellness, with family add-on options

Annual public transport reimbursement up to a set limit

Corporate mobile plan with optional family tariff

Opportunities to learn and grow through on-demand libraries (LinkedIn Learning, O’Reilly), mentoring, workshops and learning events like our annual Global Day of Learning

Please note: If the applicant is permanently present outside of the Czech Republic, Veeam reserves the right to refuse to consider the application for a job. A remote job is only possible in case the employee is located in the Czech Republic.
