The Role

MongoDB is seeking an experienced Senior Executive Recruiter to lead the search and selection of senior leadership talent across the organization. This role partners directly with C-suite and SVP-level stakeholders to build the leadership teams that will drive MongoDB's next phase of growth. We're looking for someone who brings a blend of executive search agency rigor and in-house recruiting fluency, ideally with experience in the technology industry.

This role will be based out of our New York City office with a hybrid working model.

What You'll Do

Own end-to-end executive search processes for VP+ level roles, from intake through offer and close

Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring executives and the leadership team, shaping search strategy, candidate profiles, and market mapping

Build and manage a proactive pipeline of senior leadership talent through direct sourcing, market research, and a strong external network

Conduct in-depth candidate assessments, including competency-based interviews and reference checks, to ensure strong leadership and cultural alignment

Manage complex, multi-stakeholder search processes with discretion, precision, and executive presence

Partner with People teams on compensation strategy, offer construction, and negotiation for senior hires

Represent MongoDB's employer brand and leadership hiring standards in every candidate and stakeholder interaction

Continuously sharpen executive hiring processes, tools, and market intelligence to keep MongoDB competitive for top leadership talent

We're Looking for Someone With

Significant experience in executive recruiting, ideally with a blend of retained/executive search agency and in-house corporate recruiting experience

A track record of closing senior leadership searches (VP and above) in complex, fast-moving organizations

Deep experience partnering with and influencing senior executives and stakeholders

Strong market knowledge and an active network within the technology industry; experience in adjacent industries will also be considered for the right candidate

Excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate highly confidential searches

Sharp assessment and interviewing skills, with the ability to evaluate leadership capability, not just resume fit

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the polish to represent MongoDB to external executive audiences

A collaborative, low-ego approach paired with the confidence to push back and advise senior stakeholders

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$87,000—$171,000 USD
