Who this role is best for

Best suited to experienced infrastructure engineers with a strong background in cloud networking and Kubernetes, working in regulated industries or enterprise environments.

Best fit for

  • Candidates with 6+ years of end-to-end production system ownership in infrastructure or SRE roles
    — “6+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, owning production systems end to end.”
  • Individuals who have led infrastructure-as-code implementations and managed complex state drift
    — “Led infrastructure-as-code adoption or cleanup in an existing environment, including imports, drift and state problems.”
  • Engineers with hands-on experience in multi-cloud network design and secure access management
    — “Designed and debugged non-trivial cloud networks: peering, transit, VPN, overlapping ranges and private access.”

Things to consider

  • This role demands ownership of infrastructure with no direct reports, requiring strong judgment and autonomy.
    — “It's a small team with wide scope, real autonomy and broad access, so judgment matters as much as skill.”
  • The role includes incident leadership and forensic analysis, which may involve high-pressure situations.
    — “Lead the infrastructure side of incidents and forensics.”

How to stand out

  • Highlight past experience in creating reproducible, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure.
    — “Making it reproducible, secure, observable and cheap to run.”
  • Emphasize your track record in managing mission-critical databases and ensuring high availability.
    — “Operated mission-critical relational databases in production.”
  • Demonstrate how you've brought observability stack costs under control in previous roles.
    — “Built or rebuilt an observability stack and brought its cost under control.”
  • Include examples of closing real security and compliance findings with audit-worthy evidence.
    — “Closed real security and compliance findings (SOC 2 or similar), with audit-worthy evidence.”

About the role

Original posting from Stuut Ai via Ashby

Stuut is transforming how B2B companies turn revenue into cash. Businesses worldwide have trillions tied up in receivables, yet the work between order and payment still relies on fragmented systems and labor-intensive manual processes. Stuut’s AI agent works across order management, credit, collections, payments, cash application, disputes and deductions, carrying context through every step. Customers reduce DSO by 47%, collect 40% more cash and eliminate 70% of manual work without replacing their ERP.

Stuut is already trusted by finance teams at companies including Honeywell, NCR and ZoomInfo, from Fortune 10 enterprises to scaling mid-market businesses. We are backed by a16z, Khosla Ventures, Activant, 1984 Ventures, Page One and Microsoft.

The role:

You'll own the platform engineering ships on. Most of the work is taking infrastructure that grew organically

and making it reproducible, secure, observable and cheap to run. It's a small team with wide scope, real

autonomy and broad access, so judgment matters as much as skill. This is a hands-on role with no direct

reports.

What you'll do:

  • Put all infrastructure under version-controlled, reviewed code, including resources that were built by

hand. Design a safe, auditable path from change to apply.

  • Run and evolve our cloud networking across multiple clouds: address planning, private connectivity and secure

engineer access to private resources.

  • Operate production Kubernetes and the delivery pipeline around it: clusters, secrets, CI/CD, preview

environments and build performance.

  • Own observability and its cost. Make alerts meaningful, telemetry affordable and dashboards trustworthy.
  • Drive security and compliance work to closure with evidence.
  • Operate large production databases safely, including patching, failover, auditing and replication.
  • Lead the infrastructure side of incidents and forensics.

What we're looking for:

You've done most of this before, not just contributed to it:

  • 6+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, owning production systems end to end.
  • Led infrastructure-as-code adoption or cleanup in an existing environment, including imports, drift and

state problems.

  • Run production Kubernetes and a multi-account cloud environment.
  • Designed and debugged non-trivial cloud networks: peering, transit, VPN, overlapping ranges and private

access.

  • Operated mission-critical relational databases in production.
  • Built or rebuilt an observability stack and brought its cost under control.
  • Closed real security and compliance findings (SOC 2 or similar), with audit-worthy evidence.

Nice to haves:

Fintech or other regulated-industry experience; supporting enterprise or customer-hosted deployments; cost

optimization at scale.

Compensation

  • Top-of-market salary and equity package
  • Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you
  • 401(k) & Match
  • Equity
  • Flexible PTO
  • Parental Leave
