Life at Plume

At Plume, we believe that technology isn't about moving faster, it's about making life’s moments better. Which is why we’ve built the world's first, and only, open and hardware-independent service delivery platform for smart homes, small businesses, enterprises, and beyond. Our SaaS platform uses WiFi, advanced AI, and machine learning to create the future of connected spaces—and human experiences—at massive scale.

We now deliver services to over 60 million locations globally and have managed over 3 billion devices on our platform. We’re expanding rapidly, pioneering a new category, and we achieved our Series F funding in just four years. Our customers include many of the world's largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who look to Plume to help them evolve their smart home offerings while gleaning insights from their own data.

With a bias for action and a love for being trailblazers, the team at Plume embodies a combination of relentless curiosity and imaginative innovation. We challenge ourselves to think in ways that other companies don't, work to do what should be done (rather than what can), and if we can’t do it exceptionally well, we don’t do it. It’s how we've assembled a team of world-class builders, thinkers, and doers. And it’s how we’re reinventing what’s possible every day.

Role Description

We build network intelligence and security solutions for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), helping operators understand their networks and subscribers, protect customers from threats, and turn those insights into lower churn, fewer support calls, and new revenue. As Staff Product Manager, you will work directly with the Director of Product and take end-to-end ownership of one product in a portfolio of four, spanning network analytics, security, and subscriber-experience solutions (Device ID, App ID, network security, parental controls). You will be the technical counterpart to engineering and data science, and a credible voice with ISP customers, from network engineers to executives. This is a decision-making role, not a coordination role: you will shape the roadmap, make trade-offs, and say no with clear reasoning.

Responsibilities

● Own the roadmap and outcomes for your product area, tied to operator and business metrics (churn, support-call deflection, adoption, detection quality) rather than feature counts.

● Analyze market trends, competitors, and the threat landscape to shape product strategy.

● Turn strategy into clear priorities, requirements, and acceptance criteria for engineering, data science, and operations.

● Run continuous discovery with ISP customers and build business cases that show impact on their KPIs and total cost of ownership.

● Work daily with tech leads on architecture trade-offs, dependencies, and release readiness across cloud, firmware/embedded, and data pipelines, including firmware rollout constraints.

● Own the interface with data science and research labs: define problem statements, evaluation metrics, and criteria for moving research into production.

● Represent the products in customer meetings, pilots, and public events, and prepare materials for customers, sales, and marketing.

● Build security, privacy, and responsible AI/ML principles into products from the start, working with security and compliance teams.

Qualifications

● 5+ years in product management, including 2+ years as a technical, platform, or infrastructure PM on complex products.

● Strong technical foundation, with proven credibility among engineers on architecture and design decisions.

● Experience in networking or network security (telecom/ISP, network analytics, threat detection, or similar), and understanding of IP, DNS, routing, Wi-Fi, and network telemetry such as flow data and gateway telemetry.

● Experience working with data science/ML teams across the model lifecycle.

● Experience leading distributed, multi-time-zone teams with strong written communication.

● Track record of defining and moving outcome metrics.

● Comfort presenting to technical customers and executives.

● Experience building for or selling to ISPs, telecom operators, or MSOs.

● Experience with broadband CPE or gateways and firmware/embedded lifecycles, including OTA updates.

● Experience with large-scale cloud-native architectures.

● Security domain expertise, or experience with subscriber-facing security services.

● Experience using AI tools to speed up research and analysis, with sound judgment on where human decisions matter.

About Plume

As the creator of the only open, hardware-independent, cloud-controlled experience platform for ISPs and their subscribers, Plume partners with over 400 ISP customers, including some of the world’s largest such as Charter, Liberty Global, and J:COM.

Using OpenSync, the most widely supported open-source, silicon-to-cloud framework for smart spaces, Plume’s software-defined network allows ISPs to decouple their service offerings from hardware and rapidly curate and deliver new services over a multi-vendor, open-platform architecture.
