About the role

Original posting from Mercury via Greenhouse

Mercury is built for the building class: those who act on their ambition, who see something that doesn't exist and decide to make it real with their time, money, and team; whether that's a side project or a scaling unicorn. We build the financial stack for them, backed by elegant and intelligent software meant to work from day one to scale.

Dashboard is the home base of Mercury and the connective tissue between everything you need: home, search, tasks, notifications, and the moment-to-moment sense of place and priority. When it's done right, it feels like a thousand tiny things working invisibly in your favor.

As Mercury grows more capable, it also grows more complex. Our job is to make sure customers only ever feel the first part: to take an increasingly powerful product and keep it legible, no matter how much is happening underneath it.

Our product should meet customers where they are: every task closed, every intent read correctly, every alert landing before it's needed. We aim to make our customers feel that their ambition is inevitable.

  • Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.

What you’ll do:

Take ownership of an underdefined, high-stakes surface and develop a real point of view on what it should be; starting with Tasks, Home, and Notifications

Lead a redesign of the Mercury home page: what belongs on it, what doesn't, and how it earns its real estate as the product's job for the customer changes

Design the unified logic behind tasks, lifecycle updates, and in-product alerts

Partner closely with Command, agents, and product teams that will increasingly lean on these surfaces to drive intent

Set direction and a prioritized roadmap, balancing user needs against the needs of every product team that depends on Dashboard as connective tissue

Work as a true collaborator with design, shaping the visual and interaction language of core surfaces

Operate independently in ambiguity, contributing to the visioning, sequencing, and execution of a multi-phase overhaul of horizontal Dashboard experiences

Regularly present strategy and tradeoffs to company leadership

Translate qualitative and quantitative data into insights that inform the team's work

What we need from you:

7+ years of relevant product management experience, preferably on horizontal product or platform teams accountable for a quality user experience. Bonus points for cohesive dashboard experience in fintech

Deep design taste. You believe how something looks and feels is part of what it does

A track record of turning ambiguity into a clear point of view, independently

Real fluency working with designers as a peer, you're energized by working alongside partners and stakeholders who are obsessed with the details

The ability to take complex problems end to end (research, design, engineering, GTM, stakeholder management) autonomously
