About the role

WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW

You will own the product discovery domain — everything from home, search, and browse through PLP, PDP, and the moment a customer decides to add an item to their cart — as the single point of product accountability for how customers discover and decide what to buy: searching or browsing for inspiration, filtering and comparing products, reading reviews, evaluating sizing and fit, and clicking add to cart. You'll partner closely with Site Merchandising, who curate what's featured and how the catalog is presented, while you own the underlying search, browse, and product page experience and functionality that makes that curation effective. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role sitting at the intersection of Engineering, Product/UX Design, Site Merchandising, and Marketing, with real influence over conversion, discovery quality, and how confidently customers buy.

Responsibilities

Own Shop end-to-end — home, search, browse, PLP, PDP, and the add-to-cart action — as the single point of product accountability for the space.

Responsible for setting and leading the roadmap for Shop, from discovery through delivery, in tight day-to-day partnership with the Shop Engineering team's leadership.

Accountable for defining and tracking the success metrics for Shop—including search success and conversion, zero-results rate, filter and refinement effectiveness, PLP-to-PDP click-through, add-to-cart rate, and AOV—and for measuring the customer and business impact of what you ship, not simply whether it shipped on time.

Lead roadmap development and planning for Shop: translate business priorities into a sequenced, prioritized roadmap, and clearly communicate the trade-offs behind it.

Partner diplomatically with Site Merchandising, Marketing, and other business stakeholders to align on priorities and scope — comfortable negotiating trade-offs, sequencing and deferring lower-priority requests, and keeping the team focused on the highest-impact work.

Manage and influence the third-party vendors central to product discovery (e.g., search, personalization, recommendations platform; ratings and reviews provider) — pushing for roadmap alignment and product enhancements, and monitoring outcomes against the experience they support.

Partner with Product peers on the Buy and Native App teams to align roadmaps and sequencing wherever initiatives span domains.

Bring hands-on fluency in Shopify's storefront and content architecture, and the broader vendor ecosystem, to evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and navigate platform dependencies.

Maintain a sharp understanding of international and localized discovery complexity — market-specific catalogs, assortments, and content.

Alongside your UX Design partner, own the presentation, structure, and experience of product information — sizing/fit, materials, and shipping and returns details — as the lever for purchase conviction: the clearer and more usable that information is, the more confidently customers add to cart, and the less likely they are to return.

Ensure your Engineering and Design teammates are solving the right underlying problem, not just working a features backlog — go beyond the symptom to the root cause.

Qualifications

Experience: 6+ years in product management, with meaningful time owning product discovery surfaces — site search, browse, or PDP — end-to-end.

Retail E-Commerce Background: Proven track record in retail e-commerce, ideally at a DTC or omnichannel apparel/lifestyle brand with an elevated customer experience bar.

Omnichannel: Experience unifying digital and physical retail into one seamless discovery experience (e.g., store availability surfaced on the PDP), ideally with some exposure to international or localized catalog content.

Platform Fluency: Hands-on experience with Shopify, including its storefront and content architecture.  Experience with search solution vendors, such as Bloomreach, is a plus.

Analytical: Strong quantitative instincts, with experience running structured A/B tests to test and validate hypotheses.

Outcome-Oriented: Strong grounding in modern product discovery and delivery practices, with a bias for action oriented toward measurable customer and business outcomes.

Customer-Centric: Deeply curious about the customer and their jobs-to-be-done while discovering and deciding what to buy; obsessed with elevating, streamlining, and continuously improving that experience.

Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical partners alike; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.

Kind, Collaborative, and Fun: Leads with kindness, gives and receives feedback well, and brings energy to the team.

Passionate: About the health and wellness industry, and about retail e-commerce.
