Who this role is best for

Best suited to experienced electronics QC professionals working in industrial robotics manufacturing, with a focus on traceability, standards application, and mentorship.

Best fit for

  • Candidates with strong IPC standards expertise and a history of leading QC processes
    — “you're the final word on whether our PCBAs, cables, and harnesses meet the bar”
  • Individuals who have mentored others in QC and applied standards beyond just citing them
    — “Mentor Receiving Inspectors on electronic inspection technique and how to actually apply IPC standards, not just cite them”
  • Professionals with a background in ESD programs and visual inspection equipment
    — “Hands-on experience with microscopy and other visual inspection equipment”

Things to consider

  • The role demands a high level of attention to detail, particularly with FOD control implications
    — “Support 6S and FOD programs in the electronics QC area — FOD control especially”
  • Compensation is based on experience and seniority, not just job title
    — “We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level”

How to stand out

  • Highlight experience with First Article Inspections and setting inspection benchmarks
    — “Lead First Article Inspections for electronic assemblies, setting the standard other inspections get measured against”
  • Emphasize your ability to interpret and apply electronic assembly drawings effectively
    — “Ability to read schematics and electronic assembly drawings fluently, not just reference them”
  • Showcase your hands-on experience with IPC standards and their real-world application
    — “Inspect PCBA and electronic assemblies against IPC-A-610 acceptability criteria”
  • Demonstrate your involvement in driving resolution for nonconformances, not just documenting them
    — “help drive real dispositions, not just paperwork”
  • Demonstrate your ability to flag inspectability issues early in the design process
    — “Review electronic assembly drawings early and flag inspectability issues to NPI and Engineering before they become production problems”

About Standard Bots

Standard Bots builds AI-native industrial robot arms deployed at manufacturing facilities across the U.S. In June 2026 we closed a $200M Series C at a $1B valuation, led by RoboStrategy with continued backing from General Catalyst and new participation from the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Samsung Next.

About the role

Every robot we ship has to actually work — for years, in real factories, under real load. That comes down to what happens on the inspection bench before it ever leaves the building. As Senior Electronic Inspector, you're the final word on whether our PCBAs, cables, and harnesses meet the bar, and you're the person other inspectors turn to when the standard gets tricky.

What you'll do

  • Inspect PCBA and electronic assemblies against IPC-A-610 acceptability criteria
  • Inspect cables and wire harnesses against IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Lead First Article Inspections for electronic assemblies, setting the standard other inspections get measured against
  • Mentor Receiving Inspectors on electronic inspection technique and how to actually apply IPC standards, not just cite them
  • Own inspection records and traceability for everything electronic that comes across your bench
  • Sit on the Material Review Board for electronic nonconformances and help drive real dispositions, not just paperwork
  • Review electronic assembly drawings early and flag inspectability issues to NPI and Engineering before they become production problems
  • Support 6S and FOD programs in the electronics QC area — FOD control especially, since a stray piece of debris in the wrong assembly is not a small mistake

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of electronic inspection experience in a manufacturing QC environment
  • Current IPC-A-610 CIS or CIT certification
  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS or CIT certification
  • Solid ESD knowledge and hands-on experience running or supporting an ESD program
  • Ability to read schematics and electronic assembly drawings fluently, not just reference them

Nice to have

  • Experience with industrial robotics control electronics, motor drives, or sensor systems
  • Hands-on experience with microscopy and other visual inspection equipment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $34-40/hour, depending on experience. We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
