About Standard Bots

Standard Bots builds AI-native industrial robot arms deployed at manufacturing facilities across the U.S. In June 2026 we closed a $200M Series C at a $1B valuation, led by RoboStrategy with continued backing from General Catalyst and new participation from the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Samsung Next.

About the role

Robots only work if every part is exactly what it claims to be — and that's on you. You'll be the final word on mechanical quality in the QC lab, using GD&T to catch what others miss, leading first article inspections, and making sure the parts going into our robots actually match the drawings they came from.

What you'll do

  • Perform GD&T inspection (ASME Y14.5) on mechanical parts and assemblies in the QC lab, catching deviations before they become problems downstream
  • Program and operate CMMs and other advanced measurement equipment to verify parts against spec
  • Lead First Article Inspections for mechanical parts at launch and after any process change
  • Run process audits on production mechanical operations to keep quality consistent at scale
  • Mentor Receiving Inspectors on mechanical inspection techniques and GD&T fundamentals
  • Keep inspection records and traceability tight and audit-ready for all mechanical work
  • Sit on the Material Review Board to help resolve mechanical nonconformances
  • Review mechanical drawings for inspectability, flagging GD&T issues to NPI and Engineering before they cause rework
  • Support 6S and FOD programs to keep the QC lab area clean, organized, and safe

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of mechanical inspection experience in a QC lab environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Hands-on proficiency with measurement equipment — CMM preferred, plus height gauges, optical comparators, and surface plates
  • Sharp drawing interpretation skills
  • The patience and precision to work through complex measurement tasks without cutting corners

Nice to have

  • CMM programming experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software
  • Experience inspecting industrial robotics or precision mechanical assemblies

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $34-40/hour depending on experience. We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
