Monks is a global, digital-first production company that brings together creativity, technology, and innovation to create impactful work for some of the world’s leading brands. Our teams work across markets and disciplines to deliver high-quality creative content at global scale.

The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Retoucher to join our creative production team in India. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in commercial, advertising, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and people-focused imagery, who has worked on campaigns for leading brands and understands the quality standards expected on global creative work.

You will be responsible for taking professionally shot imagery and elevating it to a global campaign-ready standard, working closely with art directors, photographers, designers, producers, and creative teams across APAC and international markets.

The ideal candidate has exceptional technical skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to understand the creative intent behind an image—not simply execute a brief.

What You'll Do

Retouch and finish high-end imagery for global and APAC advertising campaigns, digital campaigns, social, e-commerce, and other brand communications.

Work extensively on people, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and product imagery.

Perform advanced skin, hair, beauty, body, wardrobe, and environmental retouching while maintaining a natural and premium finish.

Ensure imagery meets the highest global commercial and brand-quality standards.

Interpret creative direction and translate visual references and art direction into polished final imagery.

Work with complex images requiring compositing, masking, colour correction, clean-up, background work, and image manipulation.

Collaborate with photographers, art directors, designers, producers, and global creative teams.

Manage multiple images and deliverables while maintaining consistency across an entire campaign.

Work within established brand guidelines while also demonstrating creative judgment where required.

Handle detailed feedback and revisions efficiently and accurately.

Maintain strong file hygiene, layer structure, naming conventions, colour profiles, and production standards.

Identify potential quality issues before final delivery and proactively suggest solutions.

Support the team on technically challenging or high-priority global projects when required.

What We're Looking For

5-8+ years of professional retouching experience, preferably within advertising, creative production, photography, fashion, beauty, or a similar environment.

Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end commercial retouching and campaign work.

Experience working on people-centric imagery, particularly beauty, fashion, lifestyle, celebrity, or talent photography.

Experience working on APAC and/or global campaigns is highly desirable.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and professional retouching workflows.

Strong understanding of colour, lighting, skin tones, texture, composition, and image quality.

Excellent understanding of when to retain natural texture and when to make creative enhancements.

Ability to work with high-resolution RAW/PSD files and complex layered compositions.

Strong attention to detail and an exceptional eye for inconsistencies.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with creative and production teams.

Comfortable working across multiple projects and tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Strong communication skills and the ability to understand and respond to creative feedback.

A Great Candidate Would Also Have

Experience working with global advertising agencies, production studios, brands, or creative networks.

Experience delivering work across multiple markets and adapting to different creative/brand requirements.

Experience with beauty, luxury, fashion, FMCG, automotive, or lifestyle campaigns.

Understanding of colour management and print/digital production requirements.

Experience with advanced compositing and CGI integration.

A portfolio that demonstrates before/after transformations as well as final campaign imagery.

What Success Looks Like

You will be someone our creative teams can trust with their most visually demanding global campaigns—someone who can take an already strong photograph and elevate it to a level that is polished, sophisticated, technically precise, and globally market-ready.

Portfolio is a key part of the selection process for this role.
