About the role

Original posting from SpaceX via Greenhouse

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own and execute new product introduction (NPI) rework builds across all relevant work centers, delivering qualified processes on aggressive timelines.

Program, qualify, load, and operate automated and semi-automated rework equipment; own equipment readiness and capability metrics.

Lead triage of non-conforming PCBAs, drive root-cause resolution, and implement preventative actions with measurable reductions in rework rates.

Own resolution of production rework issues while safeguarding design integrity, product quality, and delivery timelines.

Own the successful transition of rework processes and tooling from development to high-volume production, including training and documentation handoff.

Identify, prioritize, and deliver continuous improvement projects that improve rework yield, performance, and time.

Define, implement, and own maintenance schedules, spares strategies, and support activities for all rework equipment and tools.

Proven experience implementing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) specifically for complex SMT assemblies.

Ability to create and deliver technical presentations for rework process readiness, design reviews, and manufacturing readiness reviews.

Experience leading the transition of SMT rework processes from design/NPI to volume manufacturing as part of cross-functional teams in fast-paced iterative environments.
