Department overview:

We are establishing and growing a new engineering team in Dublin that contributes to the client technologies powering PlayStation experiences used by millions of players worldwide.

Our team develops SDKs, middleware, and platform technologies that enable scalable and reliable experiences across the PlayStation ecosystem. While our primary focus today is SDK and platform development, the team is expected to evolve alongside business and product needs, creating opportunities to work across multiple technical domains.

As an early member of the team, you will help shape the technologies we build, the engineering practices we follow, and the future direction of a growing organization while collaborating closely with teams in Tokyo and across the globe.

What you’ll be doing:

Design, develop, test, and maintain client-side SDKs, middleware, and system software primarily using C/C++

Contribute to the design and implementation of SDK and platform capabilities

Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented APIs that improve developer experience and simplify integration

Analyze product requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation tasks

Own features and components from implementation through delivery, ensuring quality, reliability, and maintainability

Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Quality Engineering, and global engineering teams

Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to functionality, performance, and reliability

Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering practices

Contribute to SDK documentation, sample applications, developer tooling, and integration guidance

Support the development and adoption of platform technologies across multiple products and teams

What we are looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

3+ years of professional experience developing production software using C/C++

Experience developing SDKs, frameworks, middleware, client applications, or other complex software systems

Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture principles, APIs, and software engineering best practices

Experience working with client/server architectures, networking technologies, distributed systems, or platform services

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teams

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while contributing to team success

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing cross-platform SDKs, frameworks, or platform technologies

Experience improving developer experience through tooling, documentation, automation, or platform enhancements

Experience developing applications for iOS or Android platforms

Experience with delivering production-quality mobile or desktop applications using React Native

Experience with C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript

Experience with CI/CD systems, build infrastructure, or release engineering

Experience working closely with Quality Engineering teams to improve testability and release quality

Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
