As a Software Engineer embedded in our IDV ML team you bring strong, hands-on software engineering to a team of machine learning engineers. You act as the bridge between ML research and production-grade software. SEON relies on a product-led growth approach.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Contribute to the ID Verification ML team, building in-house ML solutions
  • Deliver high-quality NodeJS, TypeScript and Python code with simplicity, performance and scalability in mind
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/data pipelines that turn raw data into clean, labeled, versioned training datasets
  • Build and operate data-intensive backend services across training and eval workflows
  • Support ML model packaging, delivery, and serving into production
  • Partner closely with machine learning engineers to translate research prototypes into high-quality, well-tested, production-ready code
  • Provide expertise, review pull requests and help raise engineering practice across a fast-moving, research-heavy team
  • Design technical implementations, break down features into development stories, and provide estimates
  • Mentor colleagues, foster a culture of continuous learning, and recommend new approaches to improve team engineering practices
  • Participate in hiring interviews, providing technical assessment and team-fit review
  • Handle sensitive data with rigor: data residency and compliance are first-class engineering concerns

WHAT YOU’ll BRING:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience (NodeJS, TypeScript, React, Python, REST, RDBMS, NOSQL) backend systems or similar stacks
  • Comfort operating in a research-adjacent, evidence-driven environment
  • Passion for building the scalable data pipelines that empower our ML engineering efforts.
  • Agile & iterative mindset (end-to-end ownership; you build it, you run it)
  • Experience with cloud data/ML infrastructure, AWS preferred
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of data modeling across both relational and unstructured data
  • Strong experience in automated testing
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • English language proficiency
