ABOUT SONIO

Each year, 140M children are born. Birth defects affect 1 in 33 births in developed countries, and in 50% of cases, they are not detected during prenatal examinations. Prenatal medicine is particularly complex, and the scans impose heavy responsibilities on healthcare professionals. They can also be a source of stress for future parents.

Resulting from 5 years of collaboration between world-renowned experts from Necker Hospital and Ecole Polytechnique, Sonio uses artificial intelligence to improve prenatal screening and diagnosis. Based on patented algorithms and a proprietary expert database, Sonio aims to become the reference tool to help practitioners improve screening, reduce diagnostic errors, and optimize pregnant women’s medical path.

Sonio's mission is to improve women's and children's health by promoting access and quality of care through technological innovation, medical expertise, and collective intelligence.

About the role

As a Solution Engineer, you are the person who turns a signed contract into a live deployment: you connect hospitals and clinics to our platform, so that AI-powered prenatal care reaches the practitioners and the families who need it.

Next year, we are adding more clients, and you will be at the heart of that growth. You will join a close-knit Solution Engineering team at exactly the right moment: your expertise will shape how we onboard clients at scale, and your technical voice will be heard.

The role is hands-on and varied. One day you are designing a secure VPN tunnel into a hospital network; the next you are migrating millions of medical images to the cloud, setting up a custom SSO, or taking a client live. You will work directly with clients and technical teams, and you will see the real-world impact of your work quickly.

Your responsibilities

  • Own the integration of new clients, from technical discovery (including pre-sales calls with the sales team) to go-live.
  • Connect clients securely: architect VPN tunnels between client networks and our cloud, and design custom SSO solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Migrate high-volume medical imaging data from legacy on-premises servers to the Sonio cloud, and manage critical cutovers for live clients, such as EHR transitions.
  • Keep the platform running smoothly: L3 support and monitoring with Datadog, data repairs via SQL and APIs, and internal automation tools (EHR workflows, configuration scripts) that help us scale.

This role is both deeply technical, working on complex and sensitive topics in the medical space, and highly client-facing. You will translate that technical complexity into a common language everyone can understand.

About the profile

Sonio is a mission-driven company so interest in our mission is critical. Other requirements are:

  • Deep familiarity with medical data standards (HL7, DICOM), and SQL (mandatory); Python is nice to have.
  • Network and cloud knowledge: familiarity with networking, in particular VPN (a key skill we are looking for on the team), and with cloud infrastructure (AWS is a plus). Experience with SaaS software and EHR implementations is also a plus.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, with a proven ability to demystify complex technical issues for non-technical clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up is a huge plus.

Location: East Coast, but Boston is a huge plus.
