The Real Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) team moves fast. We need an innovative leader with a startup mindset to help us scale effectively. In this role, you will align workplace services with regional goals and execute on the delivery of projects and ongoing programs to support our rapid growth.

You will partner with our Workplace Services team, build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key external vendors driving our expansion. As Databricks’ flagship location, our San Francisco headquarters is rapidly scaling past 1,000 employees, with substantial future growth planned. This is a full-time, in-office role based in San Francisco, CA, reporting to the Manager, Workplace Services. 

The impact you will have:

Operations Management: Oversee all workplace services at the San Francisco HQ, including building and workplace operations, front-of-house, shipping/receiving, events and experiences, and EHS. 

Team Leadership: Mentor and elevate the workplace team in all aspects of what we do, setting clear expectations to foster excellence, continuous improvement, and a strong culture of collaboration between our employee and outsourced team members.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across all organizational levels and leadership tiers to align on workplace priorities; interact regularly with senior leaders on strategic initiatives for buy-in.

Strategic Planning: Anticipate site-specific and company-wide growth needs to support Databricks’s workplace operations strategy for SF with a clear annual roadmap tracking and shifting priorities as needed.

Executive Insights: Provide local site data and insights to REW team leadership to inform decision-making and drive operational improvements.

Vendor & Landlord Relations: Manage external vendors and building management against strict SLAs that you will help to develop to ensure quality standards and budget targets.

Financial Oversight: Partner with FP&A and Procurement to forecast budgets, manage operational expenses, and process purchase orders. Be well versed in vendor contract negotiations, financial models, and ready to build out processes around them for our team.

Growth & Site Support: Collaborate across teams to support rapid office expansion, occupancy planning strategies in a safe, high-performing environment.

Event Execution: Partner with local leadership to design and execute office events that drive employee engagement and community.

Documentation & Knowledge Base: Maintain workplace SOPs, employee office guides, and playbooks to ensure operational consistency.

Automation & AI Integration: Leverage automated tools and AI (e.g., Databricks Genie) to optimize space planning, ticketing, and vendor reporting.

Program Implementation: Support execution of core workplace programs, including Food & Beverage, EHS, occupancy, events, and provide a high level of customer service.

Workplace Innovation: Identify and implement innovative ideas to continuously elevate the day-to-day employee experience.

Agile Support: Execute ad hoc projects and support broader team initiatives as business needs evolve.

What we look for:

8+ years leading workplace operations and service delivery, with a proven track record of mentoring high-performing teams.

Experience building schedules, coverage models and working with cross-functional stakeholders

Great communication skills and the ability to draft robust communications plans for events, programs, and operations.

Proven organizational skills, managing multiple work streams and projects

Financial and budget experience; including sourcing/procuring goods or services and following procurement best practices

Experience with procurement, contract management and review, and vendor management.

Experience managing request ticketing platforms, visitor management software, health and safety initiatives, and physical security programs preferred.

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
