Job Summary

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native platform capabilities that power Kaseya products.

This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on building reliable, secure, and maintainable SaaS applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about software architecture, distributed systems, cloud technologies, engineering excellence, and software quality.

Unlike traditional development environments where quality ownership is separated, our engineers own the full software lifecycle. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support your solutions while building automated validation alongside the features you create. Successful candidates combine strong software engineering skills with a quality-first mindset and leverage automation to ensure reliability, maintainability, scalability, and release confidence.

What You Will Do

Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed applications using Java and modern cloud technologies.

Build and maintain highly available SaaS platform capabilities and microservices architectures.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Own features throughout the entire lifecycle from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.

Build automated tests and validation frameworks alongside feature development.

Develop automated coverage for functional, integration, API, regression, resiliency, and system-level scenarios.

Improve software quality through testability, observability, diagnostics, telemetry, and automation.

Participate in architecture and design discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.

Investigate customer-reported issues, production incidents, and service degradations.

Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to avoid future recurrence.

Troubleshoot complex issues using logs, metrics, traces, database analysis, and code-level debugging.

Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.

Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that automate build, testing, deployment, security scanning, and release processes.

Collaborate with Product, Security, Architecture, Platform, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, sprint planning, and technical mentoring activities.

Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, documentation, and codebase analysis.

Utilize AI-assisted testing techniques to improve test generation, coverage, and engineering productivity.

Help establish engineering best practices around AI-generated code validation, automation, and responsible AI-assisted development.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

Experience building and maintaining scalable APIs, distributed systems, and microservices-based architectures.

Experience building automated tests and validation capabilities as part of the software development lifecycle.

Experience developing automated test frameworks and validation tooling using technologies such as JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Selenium, Playwright, or similar testing frameworks.

Strong understanding of software design, object-oriented programming, APIs, databases, debugging, and version control.

Experience developing automated coverage for API, integration, regression, and distributed-system testing.

Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.

Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.

Understanding of software quality engineering principles, test automation, and CI/CD practices.
