ABOUT LIGHTFIELD

Lightfield is reimagining CRM as a world model of a business. By learning from emails, meetings, and customer conversations, we’re building a living understanding of how a company works—so AI can help teams anticipate what comes next, make better decisions, and take action.

More than 5,000 companies have used the product since its November launch. We’ve raised more than $70M from Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Maverick Ventures, and Greylock to attack the biggest software category in the world. We previously built Tome, which reached more than 25 million users, and our team brings experience from Llama, Instagram, Google, and Salesforce.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an experienced engineer to lead ambitious projects that turn complex business data and emerging AI capabilities into powerful new product experiences.

At Lightfield, engineers lead product development. They work directly with customers, identify important problems, shape solutions, and take end-to-end ownership of projects from inception to impact.

You'll help shape product direction, lead substantial engineering projects, and take responsibility for delivering exceptional results through hands-on leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with customers, founders, and cross-functional teams to understand problems and identify opportunities.
  • Lead substantial projects end-to-end, from product design and technical architecture through implementation, launch, and iteration.
  • Build sophisticated AI-native products that transform complex business data into actionable intelligence, helping customers discover opportunities, make better decisions, and automate workflows.
  • Build reliable, high-performance systems with strong observability, metrics, and operational practices.
  • Lead technical design discussions, mentor other engineers, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and help establish engineering best practices.
  • Help build a world-class engineering team through recruiting and knowledge-sharing.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 7+ years of experience building and shipping software products, with strong full-stack engineering skills.
  • You're a proven technical leader who can independently scope, plan, and drive projects while bringing other engineers along.
  • You have strong product judgment and can turn ambiguous customer problems into thoughtful, effective solutions.
  • You're a rigorous, analytical thinker who can break down complex problems, form hypotheses, and use data to evaluate solutions.
  • You care deeply about engineering craft, with high standards for reliability, performance, maintainability, and product quality.
  • You're excited about LLMs and the opportunity to build new kinds of intelligent systems and product experiences.
  • You have strong software engineering fundamentals, developed through a Computer Science degree, related education, or equivalent industry experience.
  • You can ramp quickly on a stack that includes TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Apollo GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • You communicate clearly and can explain product and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical teammates.
  • You're passionate about building products customers love and making Lightfield intuitive, intelligent, and indispensable.
