About the Role

As a Strategy Director, you will lead and shape the strategic thinking across our regional and global client portfolio in the Netherlands, bridging brand transformation, modern social-first marketing, and lifecycle programs. You will turn complex business goals into clear, actionable frameworks, taking full ownership of the strategy roadmap and guiding creative execution across cross-functional teams. Sitting at the heart of our Netherlands regional pod, you will partner directly with senior client stakeholders and managing leaders to deliver innovative, measurable strategies.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction & Brand Transformation: Lead end-to-end account and program strategies, ranging from long-term brand positioning and architecture to lifecycle marketing, demand generation, customer journey mapping, and growth/retention initiatives.

Content & Social Platform Strategy: Set up and oversee content and platform-native strategies across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and X, aligning messaging, influencer approaches, community engagement, and campaign plans to client objectives and audience needs.

Client Advisory & Thought Leadership: Serve as a trusted strategic leader in client communications, delivering high-impact insight, identifying market trends and growth opportunities, and guiding senior stakeholders through strategic roadmaps and business choices.

Creative Workshops & Inspiring Briefs: Facilitate collaborative workshops and brainstorming sessions with internal teams and clients. Translate complex research, business goals, and data into concise, inspiring briefs for creative, media, and tech partners.

Audience Insights, Audits & Optimization: Audit existing campaigns, digital assets, and customer experiences. Distill actionable insights from data, social listening, and audience research to continuously refine and optimise performance.

Measurement, Testing & Impact: Drive comprehensive test plans and key performance indicator (KPI) frameworks to measure, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and integrated marketing campaigns.

Collaboration & Team Mentorship: Champion internal collaboration across fast-paced deliverables while providing direct line management, guidance, and mentorship to mid-level strategists.

About You

The essentials:

Experience: 10+ years of experience in brand, digital, or communications strategy, with strong expertise in agency environments leading cross-functional teams.

Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both Dutch and English is required.

Core Skillsets: Proven track record across both modern social-first campaign strategy and larger-scale brand transformation or positioning engagements.

Channel & Integrated Expertise: Ability to craft integrated strategies across owned, earned, and paid digital channels, including content, email, web, social, and digital product touchpoints.

Leadership & Collaboration: Strong presentation and narrative-building skills, with the confidence to advise senior client leaders and guide mid-level team members.

Cultural Curiosity: A curious mind with a genuine passion for pop and tech culture, from global trends to the Dutch scene: entertainment, music, creators, memes, moments that start conversations and shape behaviors. You know how to turn cultural fluency into ideas that feel native, timely and relevant to audiences.

Not a must, but a plus:

AI & Workflows: Experience with embedded AI tools, orchestration, and automated workflows in strategy.

Consumer Experience Strategy: Background or experience in CX/UX strategy, customer journey mapping, or experience-first agency setups.
