About the role

ABOUT MORPHO

Morpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol backed by a16z crypto, Paradigm, Ribbit Capital, Apollo, Vaneck, Coinbase Ventures, Variant and 50 others to build an open credit network giving anyone, anywhere, access to the best possible terms. Morpho is experiencing exponential adoption, with over billion in deposits on the network and used by institutional clients including Bitwise, Galaxy, and Anchorage Digital and the largest crypto exchanges, such as Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. Now, Morpho is scaling its team of contributors to establish itself as the open credit network, not just of DeFi, but of the world.

WHY MORPHO EXISTS

Everyone has the potential to build something great for the world. But fulfilling that ambition almost always requires more: people willing to trust you with their capital. Yet access to capital still depends on where you live, who you know, and which institutions are willing to trust you. Even when capital is available, it sits fragmented across disconnected networks and hidden behind intermediaries. The result is a system that fails most of the people it should serve. Borrowers overpay. Lenders earn less than they should. Many are shut out entirely, not because they are unworthy of credit, but because today's infrastructure was never built to connect them. Morpho exists to solve this. Full article here https://morpho.org/blog/why-morpho-exists/.

ROLE

Morpho's Protocol team is running more projects at once, and each one now involves product, engineering, and external stakeholders from day one. This role exists to keep every project's status current, surface blockers and dependencies early, and own the relationship with audit firms. It is Morpho's first dedicated TPM hire, so you will build the function as you run it.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain protocol roadmaps in Linear, mapping schedules, dependencies, and milestones so every team knows what ships when.
  • Own communication with internal teams and external stakeholders (curators, distributors, partners) to keep them aligned on protocol changes, releases, and dependencies.
  • Monitor project health across the portfolio, anticipating risks and tracking cross-project dependencies before they become blockers.
  • Coordinate syncs across protocol, product, and engineering, setting agendas, driving decisions, and tracking follow-ups.
  • Manage relationships with audit firms: negotiate contracts, track past and ongoing audits, and line up auditor availability with development timelines.
  • Define and improve Morpho's program management process itself as the team scales.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

FIRST 30 DAYS

You have a clear view of current and upcoming projects, know the internal and external stakeholders (curators, distributors, partners, auditors), and understand the protocol team's development and release process.

FIRST 3 MONTHS

You keep the protocol roadmap up to date and proactively inform stakeholders of relevant developments. You own the auditor relationship day-to-day and understand cross-project dependencies well enough to anticipate difficulties.

FIRST 6 MONTHS

You spot planning inconsistencies and cross-team conflicts before they become blockers. You have improved the program management process. You own audit contract negotiation, pricing, and budget management end-to-end.

MUST HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years in Technical Program Management, or a related role in an advanced technical or research environment.
  • Excellent technical communication: you distill complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for any audience, including leadership.
  • Deep command of program management methodologies and tools, with experience adapting them to research-centric environments.
  • Comfort operating in fast-changing, ambiguous contexts.
  • Clear and crisp communication, written and spoken, especially async.
  • Strong ownership and autonomy: doesn't wait to be told.
  • Team-first mindset, low ego.
