WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on non-standard revenue transactions, including partnership agreements and complex subscription and usage-based deal structures
  • Evaluate the revenue accounting implications of new products, pricing models, and go-to-market motions, and advise cross-functional teams accordingly
  • Develop, document, and maintain revenue recognition policies, position papers, and accounting playbooks that scale with the business
  • Support month-end close processes and coordinate with external auditors
  • Help implement and optimize revenue systems and automation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Design and maintain internal controls over revenue in support of audit and future SOX readiness
  • Assist with ad hoc financial reporting requests

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting
  • CPA preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in public accounting and at a high-growth technology company, with an emphasis in technical accounting.
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and demonstrated experience applying guidance to non-standard contracts, including ASC 340-40 (costs to obtain a contract)
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear technical accounting memos. Can research guidance, state a position, and defend the conclusion
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and Product in a fast-moving environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfort operating amid ambiguity
  • Experience with Netsuite and Netsuite ARM (or similar)
