ABOUT HUD

HUD https://www.hud.ai/'s mission is to build reliable, fair and open infrastructure for AI data. We want data to be valuable for the people who create it and trustworthy for the labs that train on it. Our team is a quickly growing group of researchers, engineers and operators building the economy that shapes what AI will become. Backed by $16M from top VCs and YC (W25), our marketplace and platform are used by startups, Fortune 500 companies and frontier labs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re hiring a Technical Writer to tell the stories behind what people build with HUD. You’ll turn customer and partner work, product developments, and research into clear, technically grounded content that helps AI engineers, researchers, and technical leaders understand what HUD enables and why it matters. You should be comfortable talking shop with technical customers and partners and explaining the substance without losing the reader.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write technically accurate content across formats, including customer and partner case studies, technical articles, product explainers, launch materials, and posts for X and LinkedIn
  • Work with customers, partners, and internal experts to uncover what they built, how it works, and what changed; turn interviews, demos, and results into stories with concrete evidence
  • Learn HUD’s platform and marketplace well enough to explain product, research, and real customer workflows
  • Help founders and the team communicate product vision, technical insights, and wins on the platform in HUD’s voice
  • Propose new topics and formats, manage drafts and feedback through publication, and use reader engagement and input from the GTM team to improve what we publish

EXPERIENCE

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • A portfolio of work that shows technical depth, clear explanations, and strong storytelling. You must include a link to your portfolio in your application, with at least one piece of technical writing.
  • Enough technical fluency to talk shop with and ask intelligent questions to AI engineers, researchers, and technical customers and partners
  • Strong research and interviewing skills - you can turn technical conversations and research materials into a useful story
  • Good editorial judgment about what matters to the reader, how to structure an argument, and when a diagram, example, or demo would explain something better
  • The ability to move from an ambiguous brief to a polished draft, incorporate technical feedback, and manage several pieces of content at once
  • Genuine excitement about frontier models and telling HUD’s story

Strong candidates may also have:

  • Familiarity with RL, environments, evals, benchmarks, or post-training data
  • Published case studies or technical content for AI/ML products, developer tools, or infrastructure companies
  • A track record of writing social content or ghostwriting for technical founders that earns attention from relevant audiences
  • Hands-on work with technical products, code, or demos, and thoughtful use of AI tools for research and writing

We prioritize technical aptitude and learning potential over years of experience. Motivated candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all criteria.
