Opportunity Overview: 

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, Cohere is seeking a highly strategic and collaborative Vice President of Payer Sales to lead the organization’s efforts to establish and maintain strong relationships with payers across our Western region. This person will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to help drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and ensure alignment with the Cohere’s overall goals. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in payor sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape. 

What you’ll do:

Develop and implement a strategic and proactive approach to identify and cultivate new relationships with regional and national payers across the Western U.S.

Partner with and mentor a small payor sales team to optimize performance and achieve revenue targets.

Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for Cohere while mitigating risks.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at payor organizations, including executives, decision-makers, and influencers.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations in all payor-related activities.

Act as a true subject matter expert on health plans while refining sales strategies to attract and secure long-term clients.

Represent Cohere at industry conferences and relevant events, establishing our presence as a leader in the market.

What you’ll need:

15+ years of progressive experience in payer sales, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets.

Proven success in developing and managing enterprise partnerships with regional and/or national payers.

Deep experience in the healthcare industry, including payer dynamics, reimbursement models, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends.

Knowledge of  the challenges facing national payers (e.g. healthcare reform, the rise in patient pay responsibility) and educating on how Cohere Health can be part of their solution set.

Proficient in leveraging data analytics and sales enablement tools to inform decision-making and optimize sales performance.

Ability to travel 30%+ of the time to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support team activities.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and build strategic partnerships.

The salary range for this position is $214,000 to $235,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.
